Brilliant finish. Thought Stannard might hang on when he attacked with 1k to go and got a 10 length lead. Hat well and truly off to those guys today in those conditions.

Just for a moment I thought Stannard had it too, superb performance from him! What about Taylor Phinney popping up from nowhere at the end as well. Cracking entertainment.

Yeah really enjoyed it. Credit to them all in those conditions and great to see Stannard do so well.

Tour of Cataluna starts tommorrow. Wiggins and Hesdjal riding and its on Europort all week :)

Yeah, chuffed for Phinney after the story of his last place last week. He's gonna be a name in the sport for years to come. Watched it on a stream today, first time on Eurosport for years. Enjoyed the coverage but missed the legend of Phil Liggett.

Roll on the Summer!

Arghhh hadn't realised that started immediately, looks like that's another week of afternoons I'll have to write off!

I had a plan that this year I would watch as many of the races as possible, then I could cross off the ones I didn't like and settle on a cycling viewing calendar for the forthcoming years that wouldn't impinge too heavily on my other sport viewing. This is how it's looking so far.

Keep:

Tour Down Under
Tour Of Oman
Strade Bianche
Roma Maxima
T-A
Paris-Nice
Milan-San Remo

Dump

emmm *Tumbleweed*

So yeah that's working out well!

Anyway the start list for Catalunya looks pretty good. Particularly strong teams from FDJ, Garmin and Katusha. I'm looking forward to seeing Pinot for the first time this year.

How do they get the Tour of Catalunya down in Rotterdam for the week. It won't suit the climbers!
