The race for the Top 4 - RUNNERS UP, a game to spare

Re: The race for the Top 4

I am feeling holistic and going for:

Hart
Zabaleta MDM Mangala Kolarov
Nasri Toure Fernando Silva
Dzeko Aguero

1-0 down at half time to a long ball, header, panic in defence, poke in.

Take Dzeko off put Milner on after 60 minutes

75 minutes Lampard on for Nasri

Aguero scores fantastic individual goal

88 minutes Aguero off Bony on.

1-1 full time.

(Edit) I forgot to mention their goal would be offside, not called.

The irony is Nasri is playing hard but he's dropped seemingly indefinitely.

Hart

Zabaleta Demichelis Mangala Clichy
Lampard Fernandinho
Navas Silva Nasri
Aguero

^ I'd trust that team

Re: The race for the Top 4

Have I really just read somebody say give Milner the captaincy. Dearie me.....this guy is desperate to join a rival team in the Summer yet some want him captain. I give up.

Re: The race for the Top 4

Rags have Jones, Carrick, Blind and Rojo out for the Chelsea game... surely won't take points out of that one now unless Chelsea do literally sit back and wait for a point.

Either way, we win against West Ham and the rags take 0-1pts from their game, we're right back at them. Also puts a buffer to Liverpool who will have to play catch up even more. Imperative we win and win well this weekend. I think the rags can be caught and we can finish third but we need to do it the cricket way and apply scoreboard pressure. If it's only 1-2pts after this weekend, with the respective fixtures I think we can catch them. Particularly as Arsenal still have to play a couple of tough games and the only real concern for us should be Spurs away - but they'll be on the beach by then.

I wouldn't even put him on the pitch, I just don't trust his passing and nonchalantly wasted our best chance in the derby

'Nasri' and 'hard' are not usually found on the same page never mind the same sentence. Perhaps you have mistaken irony for humour??

Re: The race for the Top 4

I think playing on sunday helps us this weekend. If Chelsea get anything tomorrow - a win obviously preferable, but a draw isn't the worst thing - then a win for us brings 3rd place right back in to range.

The great unwashed have to go to Everton next week which isn't exactly an easy one, so if we can win these next two home games it will give us breathing space in 4th, and also may put is right back into play for 3rd. The onus is on us to produce some performances and results though starting on sunday as a win would turn the mood around amongst the players, and within the stadium.

Have you been watching his sub appearances? He came on against Palace with a real determination

It probably doesn't matter if he's been watching - once a player has a reputation, everything they do is seen in this light. Nasri is now and forever 'soft', 'lacking determination' and a right 'mard-arse'. If he's none of these things for about five games in a row (that we win), there'll be a bunch of comments like "never thought I'd say this but Nasri's been brilliant lately" and "glad to say he really proved me wrong". But one average performance later it's back to "what a f**king mard-arse" and "get rid in the summer".
