Er, he was an entertainer, not a politician. Although politicians, especially Thatcher, protected him.
Yeah, that was my point. He was protected and in bed with a lot of people in high place. Our new King actually wrote letters to him asking for advice etc, it was all very weird
 
I only managed about 30 mins it made my skin crawl. I thought he was creepy before I knew what he'd done but seeing Coogan portray him so well and knowing what we now know was too much for me.
 
Not going to lie and say it was tough viewing, It didn't affect me in any way. But it was good drama.

I really can't stand Coogan either but he was uncanny as Savile.
 
Watched the first two episodes last night and the last two tonight.

What a vile excuse for a human being, but Coogan's performance was to a tee and made the viewing harrowing. Was good for what it was.
