The richest 62 people in the world

if he pays his taxes.
I pay of my total income somewhere close to 40% in terms of total taxes and if you add compulsory supperannuation which is in effect a forced saving it would be close to half. I don't have any tax dodges or smart tax planning strategies.

Ok, I was mistaken with the 1%, but if it's 62, 25 or 10, the point remains exactly the same.
Your desire will never become reality, because it is not feasible, unless world communism is effected, and we know
how that turned out.
I haven't stated any desire I stated facts from a report and is it any wonder the world has trouble. Capitalism is flawed, communism is flawed , finding a sweet spot between them is impossible. There has always been a Pharoah or an emperor and even in communism some were more equal than others.

I guess the more there are like Gates and Buffett the better for the world.

Listen there are a lot of things I would not give religion a pass for and in many ways they have been internal to countries and localised not about war and global conflict. Religion has been a factor in wars but I still believe with a few exceptions that has been about religion as a tool to justify war and brainwash people rather than as an actual underlying reason.

I guess If two religions or people fought for resources I would say it is an economic war, but if religions fought solely to convert it would be a religious war.
If you admit that religion has been used as a tool for war then you're just admitting that religion IS a part of war and vice versa. A war fought solely on "they like this, we hate them" type religious wars have the same intentions as a "we need more land! Who shall we take it from? THOSE people, because they believe in a different God to us!" war. The goals may be different but the intentions are always the same; religious hatred.

But anyhoo, that's enough of that. We don't need another thread derailing. All i'll say is I wish I was one of the 62.

What would you do with it?

There does appear to be some sort of guilt complex. So 1% of the world has most of the wealth? it was ever thus.
What the hand wringing fails to address, is if we could somehow force all of this 1% to part with their cash, and we arrange to
spread it out amongst the rest of the world, everyone in the world may get a couple of square meals, and then we are left with
a world where everyone, including the 1% is skint.
Creation of wealth via capitalism creates jobs. Communism causes mass murder and poverty, the world, in the main, has chosen
capitalism, live with it.
I think you will find that under the present system of capitalism, there are thousands being killed. What about the job losses announced today at Tata steel? Capitalism kills, at it wants the maximum profits to keep the wealthiest where they are. The poverty and mass murders are also currently taking place under capitalism.

But wouldn't giving 4 million to each person in the US cost about 500 trillion dollars or is it 5000 trillion dollars ,Wouldn't that devalue the world's money supply a bit and cause a little inflation :-). Think that prize would mean $4 for every person in the US
Ye forget it I had a brain fart

Capitalism isn't the cause. Capitalism is nothing more than an economic system. It's granted opportunity to billions worldwide to make better lives for themselves.

Socialism offers basic needs for everyone but very little incentive to do much else and for me that's not what i'd call a free life but a restrictive one. Capitalism allows people to get off the bottom rung and make better lives for themselves, although admittedly some are left behind. Socialism means EVERYONE is on the bottom rung, and are expected to be happy about it.
