The Russians are on their way...why am I not shocked.

Funny how the normal "terrorists" on TV are suddenly not quite as big a threat as Russia. Still think it will not end in a new cold war.

The bigger picture is that Russia has lost the Ukraine or rather it's government by proxy, it's been a long time coming and they have tried their hardest, but the Ukrainians want to be free from Russian dominance

I substantial part of the Ukraine want to move to the Russian side.

It's not THAT clear cut is it?

Then split the country.

West Ukraine, East Ukraine. What could go wrong...?

What a bloody ridiculous idea.

You have to split it North and South.

It is rather intriguing and interesting to see America and her allies act as if they give one jot about the Ukrainians and their land. It will be actually funny but that is drowned by the overwhelming discontent? I have about all this hypocrisy.

Nobody cares about Ukraine, it is all about flexing the muscles, playing mind games and pursuing the selfish interests of the individual nations involved, including Russia.

Putin looked markedly and suspiciously uneasy and restless during the opening and closing ceremony in Sochi. Perhaps he knew what was coming and it is not the powerful Russian winter.

I don't see why people are comparing this to what happened in the 1930's. Different time, different circumstances and a different situation altogether. One difference is this is the nuclear era so the declaration of war has a stronger significance attached to it. Once again it comes down to the people of Ukraine and Crimea in particular and what they actually want. At the moment it is split between pro and anti Russia

i think the prospect of war is far fetched. They will all kick and scream and right a letter eloquently articulating how angry they are at Russia but that is how it ends.

If there is a real threat to other European countries like UK, France etc, as it was in the 1930s then perhaps the countries will have to care and then there will be a conversation to be had but for now it just games and fronting and it is the Ukrainians that will be in the middle of it.

The Russians are in the Crimea as we speak...and in all honesty does anyone really think we (The west) are going to do anything about it?

The west have invaded every country that have looked at us sideways and now Obama is preaching from the pulpit whilst the BBC churn out anti-Russian propaganda like they did for the SOCHI games.

It's utter utter fuckwittery :-)
