The Scottish Politics thread

This government maybe but not Tories. You will continue to vote them in for the next century.
Anyway, if everyone agrees that Scotland should be independent maybe we can move the subject on to Scottish Politics.

Have you watched how Scottish Parliament conducts itself? What do you think in comparison to how Westminster conducts its business?
The last time I watched Scottish Parliament, Sturgeon was on a corruption charge and was quite blatantly guilty and yet wriggled her way out of it.

Yes I want Scotland gone, you’ve got it better than us because the UK government doesn’t want to be labelled as the one that lost the union, so they chuck English taxpayers money at you to stay, which means you get more money per head and moan like fuck about it because of English bigotry. We’re paying people to fucking hate us!

Good riddance I say

Nothing insightful or constructive then , just blind prejudice.

Yes I think we get that mate. Lucky the southerners don’t take the same attitude with every other part of England though as they are all spongers too according to your rationale.

I bet you weren’t complaining when the oil revenues were rolling in though.

I thought you might have an Interesting insight into Scottish politics. Never mind, I will live with the disappointment.

Is that all you're going to say at everyone? You should be happy; people down here support Scottish Independence.

If you want to see blind prejudice, look around Scotland to see how they blame everything on England. I like the jocks, they just hate us as confirmed by my Scottish mates.

Noticed how you ignored my copied part on university studies on Scotland’s economy post independence.

Fucking convenient.

No no, it’s the English who are prejudiced for being sick of Scottish prejudice towards us.

Seems funny how someone who had taken no interest in Scottish politics for nearly a year felt uniquely qualified to comment. Still I am sure our correspondent will also be happy when Wales and NI gain their independence too - maybe also Cornwall - perhaps Yorkshire too - perhaps Durham it is the land of Price Bishops afterall........and then will moan when we have even less impact on the world than we do now ....... although maybe Truss will be able to sign a trade deal with Leeds and Newlyn.....

Dissolution will be an interesting development for both countries. For the Scots, it will mean accepting responsibility for everything and all that entails, rather than blaming England for all woes. For the English, it will mean either accepting England’s new position in the world, or finding a new ‘other’ to scorn. If it’s the latter, then the north/south division could become much wider and much uglier.
