The Scottish Politics thread

saddleworth and blueparrot, just so you know, i have absolutely no issue with an independent Scotland, or devolution if it was done on a better basis for all parts of the UK. I also love Scotland and the Scots having spent more time up there on holiday than anywhere else either in the UK or abroad. Cheers

One of the fairer things you have said. Without wanting to speak for the two of them, i'd dare guess similarly neither has ad much of a desire for independence as you seem to think, from what i read, and what i know and can relate to re my own feelings. Speaking for myself, what i do care about enough to respond to on this bloody thread, is this forced english nationalist agenda that scotland is taking the piss and england is suffering for it. I have made no attempts to make a case for independence, i do however continue to challenge selective crap.

Well done you.

We pay for it ourselves you repeatedly ignorant by choice obsessive sadist. Ffs, its like the scots take up your wages directly, the amount of moaning you do. Politely get corrected over and over and still persist with the same me me mine moans. Fine, it is your oil, your fish, your farmlands, malt, heck even your will of the people. But that extra percentage of wage taxes raised here and used here, you can't claim! Pretty much every wage bracket pays more up here for these 'perks' we lap up. Went up again last year. I am neither young nor old enough to benefit from most off them myself, but i am more than happy enough to pay the contribution for others to do so. If you have such an issue with not having the same, elect a progressive government ffs. You moan about how little is left for you by the time the south have divvied it up and we have kept a fraction of what is sent to that same south, and yet without that income there be far far less to be left with.

And you bloody wonder why the feeling for separation continues to grow, when you flat out refuse to accept any form of reality other than the make believe one you have burrowed yourself into.
You misinterpreted one small but important point from my posts, imho its not yours or mine. its all of ours as in everyone's. Have a good evening.

I agree, that is why i het so fired up by your claiming ownership posts. And a repeat, the perks come from higher income tax, raised here, that the elected government imposes collects and uses as per what they were voted in on. Good night yourself as well.

Farage in a kilt caught lying about the Salmond case:

I got banned from another thread (probably rightly so) for questioning Salmond's innocence so I won't delve into what that dirty bastard allegedly got up to.

She couldn't remember talking to him about it on her own sofa in her own house apparently.

Its widely available. It shows London and the SE and East in surplus, every other region is deficit.

So, if those figures for Scotland are the result of being in the union, if and when independence is secured, how will the removal of all grants from Westminster improve the situation? I believe there's a report outlining post independence, but haven't seen it, if all assistance ends, what then?
Apologies if this has been answered before.
