The Southampton Thread!

This is why 'growing organically' is such bullshit. All the clubs that can afford your players just come swooping in.
Well getting 30 mill for a left back is going to help them grow. However I get your point.

A younger version of Rickie Lambert imho.

Just watched a Youtube video of him(I KNOW ANYONE CAN LOOK GOOD ON YOUFUCKINGTUBE!!!!!) he looks good. Bit surprised there signing 29 year olds for big money.

A suitable replacement and £8m isn't a lot for a player his age. If Southampton did sign him for £10m plus then you would have to question their judgement

Don't agree

Southampton don't need the money, they have a healthy backing and if Katharina Liebherr had any ambition and balls about her she would've kept Pochettino, the players and invested to try and push for a European spot.

Pochettino was more than willing to stay but once he got wind certain players were being sold he wanted out, i don't blame him to be honest.

If her father Markus Liebherr was still alive it would've been a different story

At least she can dig her club out of the huge hole they are now in.

It will be somewhat ironic if Southampton, having sold several of their best English players, replace them with foreign ones because they represent better value in the market.

What hole, there wasn't a hole, they were moving in the right direction?

Time will tell but i think they'll be in the bottom five next season, if i was a Saints fan i'd be fuming

The Mirrors got quotes of Schneiderlin hinting he wants out. Can see them going from comfortably finishing 8th to finishing in the bottom 3 in one season.

I think he will do well in the Prem with Koeman who has managed him in the last 2 seasons. He knows how to use his strengths and that is important. Pelle was a promising players at a young age (playing for Italy U21) but it never happened for him until he joined Feyenoord. He scored 50 league goals in the last 2 seasons and he's a big target man striker.
