But I do agree, we have 1 or 2 CBs too many

We have no idea whether it's likely or not,same with Echeverri. We've not seen them play much or train.Lots seem to just leave them out so their preferred squad adds up. They might be loaned but really we have no idea.

I also think it may be quite brutal. I see a few players being told their time is up
We’re not messing about in our signings and as such that means players need to leave

I guess some will be told that they cannot be registered so, if they stay, they won’t ever play.

My guess is Gundogan and two of Ake (hg), Akanji and Reis (on loan).

He's a top prospect and a steal at £6m although that was a lot of wonga for young Jemba.

In essence before the end of the summer the club need to free up at least 3 spots from the 17 list, find permanent or loan moves for at least 6 players currently not part of the first team, and replace any HG players that might leave.

Savinho no longer counts as u21 for PL.

Immaterial anyway, as the club have always built the squad to the CL limits. As long as we have been in it at least.

Savinho was born April 2004, so is eligible for U21

Fair. Fwiw, I don't see them being left out. Loaned out, maybe. Left out of the squad, hard to see. Reis in particular.

I know neither was included in the last 6 months of the CL, but that was different, and probably a one off to accommodate their moves in the January window.

As long as Peps here then youth will not be given a fair crack of the whip. Wants the finished article.

Plenty minutes to be had, theoretically. Cherki, O'Reilly, and Foden are unlikely to be able to sustain 90 minutes in the middle of the park any time soon, and Ait-Nouri and Marmoush will be away for a considerable chunk of the season. Guardiola will likely rely heavily on Ait-Nouri and Marmoush up to November, but he needs to ensure that other players are match fit and ready to assume responsibility when they go. It all boils down to whether Guardiola is prepared to rotate more for and during games.
