The Squad planning thread

I always thought KDB would be a top player well into his late 30’s. Just because he’s so skilful. I assumed that when his legs went he’d modify his game, play a bit deeper and dictate games in a Modric way. I still find it difficult to believe that he can’t do that.
Too many serious injuries and a lot of games in those legs.

His body is very broken.

I hope the club has understood that we don't have aggressive leaders in the squad anymore. We are a soft side, often get bullied and also in terms of pace and urgency going forward we have no aggressive commitment to win games.

It's utterly concerning and has to be addressed.

Agree. I’ve been on about this for ages, we need some proper hard bastards in the side, and players with attitude. Hate seeing such a team of soft lads who won’t even wind up the dickheads in opposing teams.

Linked to a lot of young midfielder’s, could see a big regeneration there, few out and a few in like the fullbacks in 2018. 3 of kova, Nunes, mcatee, gundo and Bernardo could easily go

I did state rotational. I don't think we should take too much time away from Savinho and Doku, or even Bobb but adding someone who - as I stated - would be a rotational option that has an eye for goal, ticks the homegrown quota, takes a little bit of stress away from the wingers who in fairness aren't setting the world on fire with goals.

Seems a far better option me than the rumored Trincao.
I think we need to take as much time as possible away from them, they never score!

Looked ok for belgium the other night so he can do it just less frequently.
Less frequently and with proper rest and recovery.

The way the last few years have been he’s not had that. If we had a fully fit squad around KDB I think he’d still be great here.

The problem is everyone isn’t fully fit, and they aren’t players that are in the argument for the best player ever to play for this club and even in this country. KDB is special.

Reason for getting hooked, is more than likely because he has been booked and the fact Twatwell was the referee he would be likely to get another one

As it happened introducing O Reilly changed the game. Nice to see Gvardiol at centre back as well
This was more of a reason to substitute him

The way it seems that Pep wants the full backs to basically become the wingers going forward, dare i say its made for Frimpong?

It feels like he wants to go back to the formation we played when we had Kyle and Mendy for a couple of games. Jesus and Aguero were up top with Kyle and Mendy playing as wingback overlapping. We were deadly in attack in that formation. We destroyed Liverpool
