The Squad planning thread

Branwaite has been out injured all season, and his return date is February, but i would still buy him as a swap deal with Grealish, he has played about 30 games a season in the last 2 seasons, so no he is not another John Stones, he was their best player, but now that is Grealish, so this could be a low fee for a long term signing.
Dadason is 17 so his wage his transfer and his naming in the squad are irrelevant, his ability to cover for Haaland, without changing the structure is relevant, his ability is very close to Woltemade, and 4 years of City training will see him well past that.
Marmosh love him, he is the Egyptian Semenyo, no pussy footing about, he is going to shoot.
Savinho will have a queue especially if it is a low fee with high addons.

Well the gamble did not pay off, Gvardiol may well be for the season, and Dias is 6 to 8 weeks, which could see us out of everything.
I would still bring in Dadason, Semenyo, and Branwaite, but we will need another to cover for these 2 who are now our first choice pairing, while not my first choice Guehi fits the bill, he plays like Pep wants and he can play left or right, we are going to get done over but a bigger fee around £35 million, the same signing on fee that we would have paid and a medium wage with big addons, may well get this done, so we can play O`Rielly, Guehi and Khusanov in a back 3 until reinforcements returns.
 
Georgihno Rutter.... We must acquire him now :)

Now that we potentially have Cherki, Semenyo, Gvardiol, and Guehi. We must acquire Georghino Rutter and complete the collection of the 5 infinity stones of the best 2-footed players in the premier League.


I am starting the buy Georghino Campaign :)
 
Another midfielder is crucial. Title hopes are gone but we can still continue the rebuild. There’s no hope that Reijnders comes good defensively and that Silva actually starts tackling players again. There’s also no chance Pep plays Rodri and Nico together

Doku has reverted back to type, making all the wrong decisions again, very rarely beats his man on the outside. Most times cuts in and looks for the curling shot but it’s all done at walking pace so everything gets blocked. He should be sold in the summer along with Sav, neither good enough and not a patch on Sane.

This is his first start after a muscular injury. How often does a player comeback after a muscular injury and hit their previous levels straight away?

Doku would dribble the ball outside the ground if someone left the emergency exits open.
 
To continue the rebuild we need some real quality.

A CB with Pace and a proper box to box energetic midfielder. (Fernandinho, Caceido etc)..

Another striker who can either play off Erl or is happy sharing the minutes with him. - easier said than done though.

And another wide forward who can finish/assist.

He’s also had 3 years and scores about 4 goals a season, I swear this guy is untouchable. Then we all complain that when Haaland doesn’t score we drop points, players like him are the reason why. Would be our 5th choice winger 5 years ago.

Fair enough he needs to improve goalscoring but he creates more than enough chances to make up for that. We also play slower compared to five years ago. Sterling could beat his man and receive a back post tap in within the next 10 seconds. Doku beats his man and the ball goes out for a throw in on the opposite side.

A box to box midfielder with physicality

Sell/let go: Stones, Ake, Reijnders, Rico Lewis, Sav, Bobb

Bernardo will also go but he deserves one hell of a send off

Trafford may go for first team football but Id happly keep him

We dont need a centre forward....we need goal scoring wide players Semenyo adds to this but we do need someone else as well I agree

We can go back to playing false 9...we have the players to do it....
NO striker good enough is going to come and play second fiddle to Haaland knowing he will rarely play
 
Almost shed a little tear the other day watching the QPR game for the umpteenth time. Silva, Yaya, Sergio, Vinny, Zaba, Barry, Tevez, that squad was once so chock full of quality it was ridiculous. Criminal that it’s gotten to the state it is, threadbare and gagging for more quality. Serious questions should be asked of the people making personnel decisions.
