I disagree. He’s a liability in defence and nunes is doing ok. For a supposedly great full back he can’t defend one in ones and has very bad technique when closing down a winger and often gets done without the winger actually having to pull off a trick .

He is perfect for the low block teams though.

He might be a dipper, but he is still one of the best creative players in world football and I would argue the best crosser of the ball in the game.
 
One thing with Trent that I always said about him is his crossing passing his breaking the lines with long balls! Yep he is very poor at defending but I’ll still take him on loan then an option to buy!!

Thing is is any of this true the links?

Nunes is doing more than OK imo. Issue is when he can’t play/we need to rotate then we’re very short of options at right-back. A no-obligation loan for someone as creative as Alexander-Arnold would be a no-brainer for me, even though he is defensively suspect. Won’t happen anyway so it’s probably all moot.

That's just a line he was fed to say, he didn't actually mean it. It's like believing what politicians say, or pro wrestlers. It's a work. Kayfabe. Showbiz. A facade.
 
For me Trent will open up the pitch the way Cancelo did, and we are in desperate need of players who can create from deep.

Would be a perfect signing for us right now. Granted maybe you don't play him away against the top sides but against bus parks he would be incredibly useful.

I think Vini Jr disrespected the club a lot more than trent did and people still want him lol.
 
Give me Anderson & a new RB like Read or Kayode and the squad is set imo

By the first game of the season:

GK: Donna (26), Trafford (23), 3rd keeper
RB: Nunes (27), Read (20) or Kayode (22)
CB: Dias (29), Guehi (26), Gvardiol (24), Khusanov (22)
LB: NOR (21), RAN (25)
CM: Rodri (30), Nico (24), Anderson (23), Reijnders (28), Lewis (21)
AM: Foden (26), Cherki (22)
WG: Semenyo (26), Doku (24), Savinho (22)
CF: Haaland (26), Marmoush (27)

Thats 23 players, 7 of whom are HG (plus 4 city academy trained) not including the new keeper who you'd assume would be HG as that would waste a spot (I assume we'd renew Bertinelli which takes the 8th spot)

So technically we have 2 spots but also ive assumed all of Bernardo, Stones, Ake, Kovacic, Ortega, Bobb, Grealish & Akanji leave, im sure 1 of those at the minimum will still be here as we can't shift them (and also none of Reis, Echeverri, Nypan, Alleyen, Bah etc get integrated)

Think the squad looks healthy, im sure we'd be open to offers for Savinho, Marmoush & Doku if there was solid interest which opens up a chance to move for someone else

i think Lewis and Savinho might be sold

we also have Mukasa and McAidoo knocking on the doors of the first team

Agree on Savinho, think Lewis stays as a utility player whos HG (like Curtis Jones is used at Liverpool)

If Savinho go i expect we replace with a new signing instead of going internally, its hard for attackers to break through
 
Can’t be many options for Trent if to leave Madrid.

I’d have him here for 2 reasons - Firstly it would boil so much piss. Secondly he’s a good player that could easily fit into the system here. I’d like to think with a fit Rodri and stable back line we could afford to have a player like this.

Personally I reckon he stays at least another year in Madrid. If they get Klopp no way he leaves.

Does look like the lad from Brentford though doesn’t it.

Whoever we sign they need to rotate with Nunes. I don’t want to see him gone and Rico can get minutes in midfield as a squad player.

Don’t see how he fits into the system we have, a very different fullback to Nunes. In fact hardly a full back at all, would make a better wide midfielder.

Got no problem with your view, but we built in a failure button , it got triggered when our first Choice CB got injured, and our back up got old and our 3rd choice went out on loan. Now it may well be that the two buys were done for non football reasons, certainly we sent a message to the financial side of football, we sent a message to our rivals, and we sent a message to every football player. But we are going to play against 10 man defenses, for the rest of the season, because it works, we need a big striker to break the 10 man defenses, and Dadason for me is that man/boy, we need to balance our defense as Akanji was our biggest defender as well as being reliable, Solet on loan can do that job, we can also see if he is good enough for us.
