Yes.. and look who was in power before that point. Recovering the damage done by labour

Even by the standards of the rabid right on the cellar blaming the GFC, American financial system , greed of the British banks etc on labour is s laugh. all the Tories have done is extend a debt that was the creation of the thatcher culture

Tories = we need to cut to reduce the deficit
Labour = we need to spend our way out of recession

2015 - strongest economy. I just dread to think where we would be under Labour leadership
Problem with your analysis is that 'Jeffrey' gave up on his deficit targets in 2012 when he realized he was killing off the economy. So he started borrowing like a Labour chancellor on steroids to manufacture a 'recovery' ( with the help of artificially boosting the property market), hence the desperate need for " Tories = we need to cut to reduce the deficit", in other words we created the problem and now we want to take the credit for proposing to take drastic measures to solve it.

Without the de-regulation fiasco brought in under labour at the behest of their banker pals we would not have been involved with the sub prime markets, have a look at just how many of those same greedy bankers were fated/given honors by the labour party, and while Maggie left a surplus it was the last labour chancellor who left the "All the money has gone " note.......................1/10 must try much harder

You could not make your post up mate.
Serious de- regulation of the banks began in the 1980s under Thatcher and Lawson.
Yes it continued under New Labour but they were actually criticized by Dave and 'Jeffrey' for over regulating the banks.

fastest growing. particularly important following a recession

I think that Labour, and more specifically Ed Balls, made themselves hostages to fortune with their overly definitive comments about Osborne's economic strategy being doomed to failure in the early years of this government.

Hopelessly naive imo.

I think they (he) assumed that the coalition wouldn't go the distance, but that was highly unlikely, given Clegg's overwhelming lust for power.

When we talk of neoliberalism (which is what we're experiencing now) we are talking about something that has fuelled inequality and enabled the 1%. All it means is a stage of capitalism in which the financial markets were deregulated, public services privatised, welfare systems run down, laws to protect working people dismantled, and unions cast as the enemy.

And if the Tories get in again, in some shape or form, it will continue apace.

For hundreds of years the Tories have ruled for the richest 1% and since universal suffrage they have constantly found a significant chunk of the country willing to be conned into voting for them.

Same here two Joe hockey talks all the time about how he needs to sort out the tax system as people are paying half their money in tax . What he neglects to mention is it is less than .2% of the country who pay that level tax.

But if you are in the top 1% and you are representing the top 1% and your media pals are in the top 1% then all you need is to try to con people into believing they can get there early too.
