Dig out the limited edition version of his 'Greatest' hits - it will fly to the top of your all time favourites,i can almost guarantee it!

Is that the album you'd recommend starting with? Love the roses (first album) but honestly never listened to IB solo stuff

No mate. I recommend listening to 'Music Of The Spheres' album first, although some may argue that Ian Brown's first album 'unfinished monkey business' should be listened to first, but I never really got into that album. And then there is his second studio album 'Golden Greats' which has some good tracks on amongst some average tracks IMO.

After MFTS try 'Solarized' and 'The Word Is Yours'. Ian Brown has wrote some intelligent thought provoking lyrics and his backing band know how to play... Happy listening and get back and give us your verdict when you have given them a decent amount of listening time to form an opinion.

If I was asked to sum his music up in 3 words I would say "modern indie Floyd''(if that makes sense?)

Unfinished Monkey Business remains my favourite album of his. Its just so raw. You Can't See Me, Ice Cold Cube, What Happened To Ya, Corpses, My Star... brilliant.
