Just watching champions league highlights programme on RTE and they're saying superleague may be back on.

| Main changes of the new Super League project:

-NO permanent members.
-20 clubs, all European Leagues will be given a chance to qualify.
-A second division of the league with 20 other teams.
- Strict FFP Rules to fight against state owned Clubs like PSG and Manchester City

After the political backlash from the government etc it’s simply not going to happen.

Also City aren’t stated owned, as is legally proven in online documentation as well as last years CAS ruling. So would be highly unlikely to sign up to something that accuses us of being, in a blatant attempt to hamper us before we even kick a ball.

esl is against state owned clubs but they are inviting supposed state-owned clubs and today spain government said it is against esl

Because City and PSG are too big to be excluded. They want these 2 clubs to boost the revenue of the ESL whilst also trying to hamper them at the same time.

Cartel clubs are trying to have their cake and eat it as well. But yeah its not gonna happen despite desperation for Barca and Real especially.

they are against pl and state owned clubs but have no problem taking money from those states

[Sport via Financial Times] Perez, Laporta and Agnelli recently met to discuss the Super League project. The idea is to introduce the project this year, without taking UEFA into account. They want the Super League to start this year.

Seems like they want to introduce it again and start it immediately in September
