I cannot despise the cartel with the hatred I have for the last 8/9 years and happily watch City sit side by side with them doing just the same

I’ll be fuvkin done make no mistake
We have been the poster child for the idea that any club can dare to dream.

We have now snatched that dream away from 86 other clubs on the altar of greed.

Sorry to say but our owner and Khaldoon are pigs. Greedy, stinking pigs with their snouts firmly in the trough.

They need to be got out of our club. Today.

I posted elsewhere that I respect the right of any organisation to secure its business both now and in the future.

I accept that there are nuances and politics in all of this that are yet to be revealed to us fans.

However, this is wrong. Plain wrong.

And City's involvement in undermining the principle tenet of the game wherever it is played is also wrong; that principle being you only get rewarded on merit, whether it's 3 points for winning a game or a trophy for winning a competition or a split of the finances up for grabs if you are successful.

As Dylan put it in 'It's All Right Ma..' - 'Money doesn't talk, it swears..'

You may disapprove of the new generation of football fans who support their chosen club from behind a screen in their homes. But they are there. In volume. And their interest represents a big payday for the club(s). It is delusional to suppose that clubs of the stature of those involved in this breakaway tournament will attract little support. The revenues will be huge. Those fans who will walk away are the old timers who have bought season tickets for many years. Losing them is tragic from a fan perspective, but the money will still flow into the clubs regardless. And a new generation will occupy the vacated seats at the Etihad too. Especially if the clubs price access within reach of less well-off younger fans. Dynamic pricing software means that seats can be priced to sell these days.
I said years ago that the TV revenue meant that eventually fans would be paid to attend to provide atmosphere. But Covid means they can do that at the press of a button. And Covid has already broken the addiction for many, who (even if it's safe) will never go back.

Before everyone condemns our club, it is blatantly clear this has been led by the American owners and we have reluctantly signed up with the worry of being left behind if we don't. Damned if we do, damned if we don't. Perhaps I am being naive but signing up for it does not necessarily mean we want it to happen.

Can someone tell me where the £3bn is coming from? Have TV cos already indicated how much they will pay?
Money is coming from JP Morgan. Dazan apparently have the TV rights

Has any manager/player of any of the 12 made any comment on this corporate carve up yet? Or has the biggest story in world football seen then gagged?

just some idle speculation... but from the lack of enthusiasm on display on Saturday at Wembley, was it known to them at that point?

Sorry SWP's back, but even a bit pissed at 03:00 the use of 'is' is actually correct.

City is a singular term, therefore 'is' is the correct way to refer to us. For example 'John is a twat' means that this John is a twat in the same way that City is a founding member means that City is a founding member.

Fuck me I need to go to bed
That’s not true in English.

The club is a group of people, the executives, players, fans, so “City are” is the correct English.

In US English, sports franchises are not considered as clubs or groups of people. They are entities / brands, so the US English would be “City is”.

Actually, after joining this Super League, maybe it’s more appropriate to use “City is” now.

I think they’ll happily walk away from the premier league

city v united
Liverpool v real
Chelsea v Milan
Arsenal v Real Madrid

Leeds v Burnley
Everton v Newcastle
Villa v wolves
Brentford v palace

which games would you watch over the weekend?
None of them, ever again.

I’d watch Alty v Stockport

or Warrington v Wigan in a completely different sport

Forever more!

As if the media didn't need another reason to give us a kicking. You can imagine Delaney, Harris, Castles, Schindler, Conn etc etc. They'll be like dogs with two sets of bollocks to lick. The only thing is that their beloved clubs are also party to this grubby idea. Welcome to the new (footballing) world order.
At least Dan Roan did his report from outside the Swamp.

I take it from that post you work in finance?
Ignore everything that matters.... because, y'know, money!!
These clubs are a manifestation of the communities, of the supporters. Do you understand that?
OUR clubs are being taken from us, because of greed.

How? I don't understand how us deciding to play in another competition is stealing the club from us

Great point, the attitude of both teams on Saturday makes me feel the players and staff were not too impressed with the news.
