These plans are to replace the CL. The PL is the Golden Goose for English clubs and will not be directly affected by this. In fact the UEFA proposals are even more damaging for the PL.
If you think just one sec that the other PL clubs will just get on with it and watch you getting even richer thus completely out of reach, you're dead wrong. Let alone the fact that the likes of Leicester, West Ham will more than likely never get an invitation. It will affect football in ways none of us can imagine.

No club has a god given right to be in an elite league without any consequences other than racking up the cash. The move is first and foremost to counter the new big clubs threatening the old establishment while maximising the profits and destroying any kind of meritocracy left in the process. They'll also find a way to fuck you and Chelsea up in the long-term.

It's weird how people think that the owners of football club, one of the world's most popular sports, want to make it "more American" that would appeal to a country that doesn't actually like football at the cost of the current massive and profitable worldwide audience.

Saying that they'll franchise clubs or introduce quarters is literally hysterical.
that's a stretch of an argument.

It's profiteering, racketeering and greed in it's purest form, made official. The American dream brought to football. They can make the business model American without changing the game, and they have done just that.

That is the exact same attitude all the other clubs had towards us when we were fighting FFP. I thought we fought FFP because we were the actual good guys, who didn’t want a closed shop and instead wanted fair competition for all. I thought we saw through all the lies re FFP protecting the future of football clubs.

FFP was nothing more than a covertly introduced protection racket and now that it has failed, these clubs have simply fucked off trying to do it on the QT, and are instead now doing it in plain sight. For City to be part of this after these clubs would have quite happily seen us disappear out of existence is sickening.

We fought against FFP to ensure we could join the cartel, now that is done were helping pull the drawbridge up. Totally sickening but that is the sad reality.

Last night only proves we were on the right side of the argument, only because it suited us, not for any altruistic reason to protect the game/competition.

Qatar bought FIFA, bought the world cup. Dozens went to jail. But they kept the World Cup. The very next year, they ploughed their money into UEFA. They bought the TV rights, and became 'the sponsored' airline. The bidding for Qatar 2022 was a massive fest of corruption and led to scores of resignations and prosecutions.

And yet they kept the Tournament, and extended their influence?

And Infantino, who was head of UEFA's legal during a time when they sold CL rights to people who ended up on Interpol's Red List for corruption during the process. Now he's running FIFA? And he let Qatar keep the 2022 cup?

And Platini turns out to have been corrupt as well?

Yes, I'd rather Real, Utd, and Liverpool and us formed an organisation that dealt with the TV and marketing rights.

Because they wouldn't be open to corruption in that way.

I honestly believe the G14 are the lesser of two evils. And I am dead clear why our owners would see this as an end to Qatar's highly dubious extension of influence into world football governing bodies who have proven unwilling or unable to act in a manner that proves their legitimacy.

I mean, they banned us based on information gathered illegally by someone who went to jail for related acts. How can that be the due process of law?

Farce.

Fuck them. Blow it all up, start again.

I don't have any love for UEFA. I don't have any objection to a shake-up of European football.

I do object to 12-20 teams deciding that they are the elite, can do whatever the frig they want, take all the money in the game, and tell hundreds/thousands of other professional football clubs with decades of history to sod off.
They want to reform European competition, the governing body has told them to do one. So change will have to be forced through to make it happen.

Real Betis have updated La Liga table on their club website -

That's pure Betis, suprised they didn't put in a 'puta points deduction' for Sevilla while they were at it.

So do I.

But they are doing it and we had one decision: to be part of it or not. The Sheikh will not have thought twice about it. He's not in this because he went to York away or hates Man United. The fact that he's only been to matches once tells you all you need to know. He wants City to be the top club in Europe and after spending his billion quid or whatever we have to accept that.
You’re spot on. This is what the Sheikh wanted for his business investment.

But I don’t want it and don’t accept it, so I’m considering ending my support for the club because of my objections to it. So are my parents and my mates.
