This is probably the moment where we really find out about Guys like Pep, Klopp Arteta etc... and the players.

The only way to actually stop this madness is if the talent says no.

Klop's made big statements about money in the past, he's a rich man, does he need to ruin his reputation by going along with this, same goes for Pep.

I'd be full of admiration for any of these blokes that walks...

I'd like to think that there are players too that say no, but tbh I doubt it as they are typically thick as mince and just go after the money.

Well said!
Have the booers forgotten what they were booing for??
This is the ultimate two fingered feck off to UEFA and all it’s corruption.
Personally I would welcome seeing the best clubs in the world with the best players doing battle in a league.
I very much doubt the national federations and UEFA will be able to sustain national leagues without the big clubs included as financially this will not be sustainable for them and will hugely diminish the importance of the leagues.
If this is all just a bargaining gambit to wrestle power from UEFA I am also in favour of it. They’re rotten to the core and need showing who earns their wages for them.
Screw UEFA!
what you are saying, in effect, is that you welcome the people running the new league as better for the new league, even though the only reason they have set up the new league is to take more money, for themselves, away from the other teams in the previous leagues?

and just as a cherry on top of that shit cake, you welcome these new "administrators" as they will replace UEFA, even though these people were the driving force behind everything UEFA did to MCFC?

people entertaining this premise need to wake up.... money flows up, always has. but these new owners are not happy with the rate of money flow, nor are they happy with sharing that money flow. they want it all. and they will kill any league or team, no matter at what level to get their greedy hands on more money.

You cannot be a powerhouse in football and beat UEFA in court then play the "we had no choice" card when confronted. They knew what they were doing and that is all just lip service if that is what they say.
They were trying to destroy us then. We were compelled to defend.

NOw we are being told that here is the land of the plenty and here is the desert. Now choose.

We chose the plenty but did we do so wisely? I can't see this getting off the ground and the question now is how much damaged have we incurred through this process.

Some degree of support for the view "fuck uefa, its better to have clubs running it" on here.

Unfortunately, that all hinges on the motivations and the social responsibility of the super clubs.

Uefa are poor but they have a (small? often misjudged) degree of commitment to the game at national and regional level.

Anyone who expects the super clubs to have any concern about this (I.e. everyone else) is nuts. The closed shop element is a clear indication.

It might be a power grab from uefa but a consequence of that is that it is, in effect, a huge power and money grab from every other club in Europe. From Rochdale, to Everton, to Rapid Vienna.

If you want to celebrate a power/money grab from uefa you have to accept that you are really celebrating a power/money grab from all clubs other than these 'elite'. Taking money, competition and the purpose of social institutions straight out of their pockets.

And that's a pretty immoral position to be in.

Mortgage everyone else's future with somebody else's money to line your own pockets.

I'd be surprised if there's 4 billion people worldwide with the access to watch this. The peak viewership for the World Cup final of all time is 1.1bn. That's peak, arounnd half that watched the full 90 minutes.
Agauero. Fair shouts. The 4 million seems to be a consistent figure from the internet. I’m sure the new arrangement will ensure that eventually everybody in the Universe gets some form of access via new platforms.

And this is exactly the kind of absurd hysteria I'm talking about...
bury your head in the sand all you want fella - if it makes you feel any better.

deny all the evidence in front of your face. How many clubs in the CFG "family" ? we could move to mumbai or beijing eventually - the flexibility is there

absurd denial on your part to ignore what's just slapped you in the face

Reputation wise this has caused irreprable damage, no matter the outcome imo.
