This is about money the image of the club is of secondary importance

the fans don’t even come into it

Kaveh solhekol on SSN is such a smug little prick.
Totally against the ESL but he’s almost making me want it to go ahead just to piss him off. Keeps repeating himself “how can it be a super league, city are in it and they haven’t even been in a European final” how about you call out the US owners who are driving this you bell....is it because your paymaster is murdoch? Constantly trying to point out City as the bad guys (which we are here but only 1 of 12!!)

spot on

only a fool would not say yes ? if all the other big clubs are leaving and will be printing there own money
you can bet the players will be wanting the biggest slice of the pie too
Bayern Munich, Dortmund and PSG aren't having any of it at the moment.... but hey, the ESL will have The Arse and Spuds who are supposedly big clubs.... absolute dogshit, the grounds may be big and newish, but seriously, their teams are shite.

They can buy a package for a particular game or series of games and have pregame, half time and post game slots with additional slots for VAR breaks.

Exactly, it will happen. You see NBC sports coverage of PL games and they already do it - ion fact it has happened over here in the uk but revolved around when the teams were walking out

As soon as a VAR decision needs to be made and the ref walks to the pitch side camera - the tv screen will go half and half - and there is your paid advert and revenue spike for the competition founders

I don't agree. Whilst they are the owners, they are also custodians and have to protect the long-term interests of the club?

You and me will be long gone one day, there are no kids to take our place, as the song states.

The way people consume life is changing quicker than I ever thought possible. Globalisation is happening across all society and will continue to do so.

It was sad that so many people lost their jobs at Debenhams, but the likes of Amazon have come along and have driven them to the wall, doing it quicker and better than the High Street.

I'm 46, so have seen how City have changed during my lifetime, the club as we once knew it died a long time ago.

I like this version better than the one I grew up with, it was shit, barring the banter with my mates and the dreams of City one day winning everything in sight.

As I say, people are entitled to their own viewpoint, but the club will know why the dots have to join up.

There is a massive echo chamber at present, fulled by SKY and Uefa, social media, all with their own agendas.

My agenda will always be City being at the top.
Fair enough TH.

Certainly not going to get into an argument with anyone about it. I almost feel too deflated, which is an indictment in itself.

My view is I don’t think this gets us to the ‘top’ of anything worth being the top of in the long term. Only time will tell, so no point getting too heated, but I think the concept won’t ultimately be welcomed or accepted by lovers of football, hence we’ll be top of a stinking pile of shit of a competition.
