At last some common sense!!!
I echo your sentiments.
You’ve been offered a place at the top table of football. It’s what we’ve been after as a club since we had the financial means.
Refusing to be involved would be biting your nose off to spite your face!
It’s what our owner has been aiming for all along I suspect and anything that fucks off UEFA is more than welcome!
Nobody really likes change but I am sure a lot of those who feel very negatively about this will come round (if it ever happens that is...)
I think you don't know the city fan base very well. Our fans generally are not johnny come lately glory hunting shit houses like the rags and I can't see us taking this well

Nah, because many of us remember where we come from and care about football as a whole.

The majority of us aren't selfish twats who don't give a flying fuck about other clubs.

manchester city have to be part of any new super league and makes no sense in not signing up
football and european football needs a revamp and if city are not involved it will still happen. at lease this way we get a vote and a say on the board and any rules have to be voted

manchester city had to change to keep up ? there was no way manchester city was winning a single thing other than promotion and relegation. its was that simple and its the same thing with signing up to the super league

i don't understand why all the moaning is about. from what i heard and seen its a reforming of the champions league and not the premier league ? ok the league cup will be lost to the super league teams. but in farness its one of the lowest competition and they all ready play weaken teams in it

am a old fart and manchester city will be forever in my soul and blood nobody can take the memories away
like a old fart hate changes but in football they happen all the time and if you don't keep up with them you are lost to the also rans

MANCHESTER CITY ARE A BIG CLUB and thank god we are in a place to be seen as a big club and can take on the big boys and beat them
There will be no competition it will be a show

Agreed on the American influence and no promotion and relegation.

I think a concession could work on that?

Maybe protection for the two years for the supposed founder members but then promotion and relegation, offering the five extra places to highest placed teams in respective leagues?

I do think the group stages of Champs League are shite and if there was relegation and promotion after the first season or something, I would be cool with it.
That's the bit where absolutely no compromise will be made in my opinion.

The clubs signed up especially for this clause. Do you really think that the Spuds would compromise? Or both of the Milan teams? Renounce to that unbelievable amount of cash with no risk whatsoever and return to the crap (by then) PL, if they've been kicked out? Not a single chance in hell.

You might put the interests of your club above everything else but the whole thing stinks, even for your club. You're also not on the board and you won't have a say on how the Super League will be run in the future. This falls on... well your worst enemies.

THE CL as it is and will be is shite, we all agree on that, but if you think any second that the Super League is a better alternative, you're in for one hell of a disappointment. By one of the board members admission it's only about money, they don't give a rat's ass about the football quality.

Only if they continue to pay current PL wages? They would have to cut their cloth and the players would have to do the same as where else can they go? If they cannot go in the super league, all other leagues will be weakened as well so the PL would actually be at the forefront still as even without the big six we have bigger clubs than any other national league.
This is very true but I fear for the PL if the "big 6" (I hate using that phrase when talking about City - It feels corrupt somehow) get thrown out - or even devalue the leage by playing B teams at weekends etc. The TV money is a big deal but so is sponsorships and they could take a hit too... we know it's possible to run a club with less money (pay less wages, have less staff etc) but a LOT less money?

This is all guesswork and worse case scenario stuff anyway - for all we know the national leagues will cave in and not sanction anyone, those ESL teams will still play decent squads every weekend and we have a new league to watch midweek...

The biggest influence on the outcome I would suggest is the players and their union. If they are under threat and expulsion from League, tournaments and cups we might see solidarity. Without the players there is no ESL, its as simple as that. I just can't see the top players being confined to ESL no matter how much they are paid.
Players are yet to show their hand but it will be significant if and when they do.

They will 100 per cent sign up but with the need to win a members vote - they will wait until everyone else has signed up and then ask fans do you want to be playing the European elite or Augsburg or Mainz next weekend. Bayern will 100 per cent sign up - they long since outgrew the Bundesliga.
But first they'll convince everyone that they've been dragged into it kicking and screaming

MK Dons? It's happened before, all that is standing in the way of other clubs ATM is that the authorities won't allow it anymore. Bypass the authorities and...

They *are* making it more like the US system already, by getting rid of relegation. They don't understand how things work over here. People who work with them say the same. And they think in terms of marketability, which includes moving to a bigger market, and rebranding from time to time to follow the latest trends.
Americans don't like football. I don't know why I have to keep saying this - it's about the sixth most popular sport on TV over there and this predicted US boom has never emerged.
And who are these people who don't know how things work in European football? Flo Perez? Agnelli?
