If we have signed a contract before the details have been finalised or the competition has even been formed then we'd be absolute idiots.

These Perez quotes have taken me to a whole new level of depression. Football used to be everything to me, it’s over. I have a 1 year old son and like most Dads I had been dreaming of the day I can take him to see City. It’s such a big father-son moment right? Taking your boy to experience your passion. Now I’m not even sure that will even happen. I don’t know how to properly describe how I’m feeling right now but it’s a long time since I’ve been this low. What even is this version of Manchester City?

That's really sad mate. Like you say, taking your son to his first game should be a moment to enjoy together. I remember my first game well, we lost 3-1 and there were Swales Out protests afterwards. I couldn't wait to go back, I'd never experienced anything like it!

There's many things that aren't right about the plans for the Super League (the name for a start. I keep thinking people are talking about Rugby League). But the fact no one at the club has had the decency to address the fans is disgusting. Their silence is deafening. City might not have been the ones who planned this, but we are complicit and that makes us just as bad.

One thing that has struck me about this is the cliche that football clubs are just play things for billionaire owners. They're not, they are serious businesses and the owners want to monetise absolutely everything they can as part of that.

It's laughable that they claim the pandemic was bad for them, it wasn't. TV companies replaced fans with sound effects and the target demographic for this abomination probably didn't even notice the difference as they occasionally looked up from their phones, tablets etc.

I've followed City through thick and thin and more recently some truly incredible moments, and despite plenty of almighty cluster fucks during that time I've never been ashamed of the club, until now.
