Sly Sports still running with the narrative that Chelsea and their fans kicked off all the events last night, and Captain Hendo and the Dipper players seft-sacrificed their riches for the greater good.

Do the media have to take some responsibility for this? Constantly banging on about a BIg 6 after years of talking up a Big 4 with all the Grand Slam Sunday razzmatazz that Sky can throw at it. Is it any wonder that clubs get above themselves when they get promoted far more than the other clubs in their league.
No. People are responsible for their own actions.

Just because there's a penalty clause in a contract doesn't mean it will be enforceable.

The body claiming the penalty (ESL) may not exist, and they also may have to demonstrate commercial losses.

The fact that the whole thing has gone down the toilet means that City could argue that their actions caused no losses, so the they're not liable to pay. The backlash showing the whole thing wasn't viable anyway.

Normally this sort of thing will be settled through negotiation rather than in the courts, but given what's happened, I don't expect any clubs will be paying any penalty clauses for withdrawing.

I expect we will be ponying up for all the lawyers and bankers fees, incurred both by us and by the ESL entity.
Good points. I'll need to overcome them in formulating the plot for the novel. :)

My mate who is similar age to you Oakie (72 and I know you are 70) doesn't swear but just calls him Marmite as an alternative. I did tell him about his FFS, nickname on BM but never in a million years would he swear, the older generation, don't think I could refrain.

To be fair H. I`ve never f`d and blinded in front of my missus of 46 years,as from the onset she would pull me up about it.We both swear in moderation in one anothers company, but she knows what I`m like whilst watching City on the tv that now and again the odd word will slip out.
Good job she`s not a footie fan and come to a City game ... she`d leave well before the early leavers ... probably with 88 minutes still left. ;)

I think that might be why Real and Barca will be the last 2 standing - La Liga won’t kick them out - they’re more vital to their league than any of the others.

I imagine they think if we stay strong we’ll be in for £500m each. Then the battle is how do they get back into UEFA competition.

In the meantime though, debts are settled and they’re out of hot water financially, albeit with a dimmer prospect on the European stage.

nobody could sign up to the super league it breaks the laws in the rule of the premier league and clubs would know this. all they have done is verbally agreed and backed outed when the seasons ends. i did think it would have happened and i still think it will under the uefa name ? the new revamp champions league is not that much different to a closed shop super league

all this was a warning to the broadcasters pay up or we are off ? funny that all the leading uk sports broadcaster was leading the blind with its pundits spouting off ? they know the internet companies are in the driving seat and they can not stop them bidding ? so what they have done is defended off round one. just wait to the new live bidding start for tv companies in the summer amazon will be all over it
