Is that genuinely what all the Star Wars stuff was about? No wonder nobody could guess what you were talking about...Check the It's Quiet thread last week ;)

I think that might be why Real and Barca will be the last 2 standing - La Liga won’t kick them out - they’re more vital to their league than any of the others.I've heard mention a fine of €100M for any club withdrawing. That wouldn't surprise me as it would have to be punitive to be a deterrent. Since the Super League is a body made up of its founding members, then they would presumably be the ultimate beneficiaries but probably only if the Super League were dissolved. The fewer founding members the bigger the individual payout. So taken to its logical if somewhat absurd conclusion, if Real Madrid were last man standing they would benefit by over a billion.
I know this is far-fetched but it's sufficiently crooked to fit this money grabbibg scenario. It would however make a plot for a novel.
i know, but I've seen people these last few days say they are done.
and we know they won't be.

It isn't a PR win. But in terms of sport politics it is clearly: "Winner winner chicken dinner"Maybe I am missing something, but why are people treating the decision to exit a coup at the last minute as a PR win?
If you think we would ever have been the pride of English football amongst fans and journalists generally in this country then you're fooling yourself. Even if we hadn't signed up I feel sure some of it would have been twisted to be our fault. The good old boys at Liverpool forced down the ESL path to keep up with dirty oil money. Surely you understand that by now? We've given the ugly press bullets, how long will it be before we are named as the problem....
Why did we sign up, what a balls up. We'd be the pride of English football now.
We will be blamed.
