The Telegraph set to release evidence of corruption in the Premier League withing the coming days

do i care about sam telling someone about how to buy a player who is owned by a third party, not really, do i care that there are bungs in football, not really, it goes on in all types of business, what i would care about is match fixing, but there is no evidence of that, now that would be corrupting our game not this other stuff, sams a dick for getting caught saying stuff and only has him self to blame, but what he has done is it really that bad, does it affect us as fans and what goes on on the pitch.

That the bloke who has just been appointed England manager, has already set up a deal to help an overseas consortium break FA rules, before he has even taken a fucking England training session ?

This is the man the FA, the governing body of football in this country, saw fit to appoint as England manager. He was already trying to use his position in order to make money, before he'd even picked a team.

And we shouldn't be concerned about this ?

Getting pissed off with all those people (a lot of them in the game, funnily enough) saying that the press are wrong for doing this.

It's not the press corrupting our game you knobheads, it's the fucking wankers involved in this shit who are doing this!

Mr Murdoch may be a little confused because one of his papers seems to have written the expose about Sam A. who at the time was employed by the FA who are the recipients of a massive sponsorship deal from another of Mr Murdoch´s Companies.

Was he aware of the DT´s intentions I wonder ?

Well there is this goal which kept Everton up and relegated Sheff Utd in 1994 - watch the replay from behind the goal, no way is that a genuine attempt to save a fairly weak shot. Can you be confident that this still doesn't go on when there's far more money at stake?

Being greedy isn't illegal on its own, and he did say he'd have to run it past his employer first.
makes you wonder how many of these "ambassadorial" second jobs the f.a. actually give the okay to that we don't get to hear about.
maybe, if this had been genuine and not a set-up, allardyce would've run it by the f.a. and they'd have said okay to it.
nudges and winks all round are par for the course whenever huge money is involved.

An opinion can still be defamatory if it's based on a mis-statement of the facts, as I understand the relevant law. It's not a defence to say "I wasn't actually accusing x of taking bribes. I just thought he might be one of the people involved".

Though legally,(at least here in Ireland) if you can say that "it is my understanding" then that's an entirely different thing than saying something as fact. it's why sky will also use phrases like this when speculating.

The Telegraph is owned by the Barclay Brothers not Murdoch

The Telegraph should put up or shut up. If they have something, just print it.
Or maybe it's in the hands of lawyers.

They have handed dossiers to the police and authorities. So they've done the ethical thing. Now they can make some money off their efforts, which is fine. I expect them to drag this out as much as they can. If they are through the looking glass from their pov, we'll see a lot come out in the days ahead. I'm hoping things have gone to far for injunctions to damage their work.
