My concern with an England manager is "Can he get that bunch of prima donnas to actually play like a team and, at the very least, match the expectations we have of them?".
I'm not sure why we seem to have this opinion that the England manager is supposed to be "whiter than white" as the term seems to go. We seem to think we're somehow superior to everyone else, I've even seen the term "...guardians of the rules and the body that judges others...." used as justification. Do we really think World Football gives a shit about England? We may have developed the game but we sure as shit don't own or run it anymore. By what measure are we guardians of the rules? What judgement power over others do we have? We really do hold ourselves in far too high an esteem. Antonio Conte was banned from football for match fixing, didn't seem to affect his ability to perform well as Italian manager, or to get himself a job in England (despite our position as a "body who judges others" apparently).
My issues with Allardyce were that I didn't think he was a particularly great manager, I don't really care whether he earns £3m a year or £3m + £400,000. Being England manager really isn't a full time role. You've got months between games at times, and only a week or so with the actually players then. The England manager will have a shit load of "free time" on their hands, if they chose to use that earning more money via other methods I really don't care.
The British media target the England manager and go after him in an attempt to try and destroy him, every single time. Then they woman and moan when we perform poorly at tournaments. Can they really not see how their actions are a contributory factor? You wouldn't get the national press from Italy, Spain, Germany or France going after their national manager with such vigour simply to sell more copies and bring in more ad revenue. The Telegraph will be jumping up and down claiming they've done us all a favour exposing Fat Sam like this, don't be fooled, they've done themselves a favour as their aim was to increase profits and nothing more. If it were more profitable to them to sweep this under the carpet and not tell anyone then that's what they'd have done.
I don't actually give a shit 'why' the Telegraph did it. I pretty much hate the media in general, regarding all things, not just football ,& the Telegraph etc, in particular.
But every now & then they do something beneficial, & this is one of those occasions. I don't actually care if it was ISIS who uncovered it, I'm just pleased this person is no longer involved in top level football. The pity is, his organisation will probably find him another role probably on tv or radio, telling us all how it should be done.
I do care if he earns loads of money, has loads of friends in the game & 'rests' players for away games at Old Trafford, as they 'don't have a chance' & the midweek game is 'more important' before going drinking wine with Sir Alex Ferguson after the game. I do care that a referee (one of the straight ones) saw fit to text him & Sir Alex immediately when he heard some bad news, & that the first thing a referee thinks is 'I wonder if Sam & Sir Alex know'. That was a 'straight' ref. I wonder how many texts the others send ? I do care that Harry Redknapp then puts out a weakened side at Old Trafford before playing a full strength one v us & then goes drinking wine with Sir Alex..
I do care that this fucking clique of cunts, whose associates are like a tapeworm in the innards of football, are on every tv station every radio station, involved in every decision made in football right upto Champions League level, & that one of them has recently been given the England manager's job IN SPITE OF his past.
And I'm glad one of them has been fired.
I hope some of his associates are locked up, but chances are they will close ranks & all get away with it.
As Sam himself THE ENGLAND MANAGER admitted, he knows exactly what goes on & how it all works, but in all the years he has been in football, with all the powerful friends he has in the game, it appears, strangely enough, he has never made the slightest effort, to do anything about it. Just like his mates.
Every single one of these cunts who gets knocked down a peg, is a triumph for football. Having that **** as England manager, irrespective of his lack of competence for football reasons, sours the England setup worse than ever.
Rooney will now be worried about his England career, for the first time.
