Arsenal next 6:
Bournemouth (H) 4th March
Sporting (A) 9th March
Fulham (A) 12th March
Sporting (H) 16th March
Crystal Palace (H) 19th March

City next games: not sure if FA cup game will be slotted in)
Newcastle (H) 4th March
Crystal Palace (A) 11th March
Leipzig (H) 14th March
West Ham (H) 19th March
Burnley?

You can see we have a less congested fixture list and primarily home games. They have to go away to Sporting and then have a quick turn around and go away to Fulham. We also have the psychological edge of playing before them in most matches.

West Ham postponed as we play Burnley.

I worry the Martinez own goal + us somehow failing to beat Forest will prove to be decisive. It felt like the momentum was really beginning to swing in our favour before Arsenal fluked a last minute win against Villa.
Yeah I know what you mean. Arsenal were beginning to show signs that they were faltering when they lost to Burnley and drew at home to Brentford. Then we went to their place and beat them to go top of the league for the first time in months which felt symbolic.

A few days later, they are drawing 2-2 with Villa going in to the 93rd minute and it's starting to look like this is the point in the season where we take the ascendancy and gradually move away from them over the coming weeks. Unfortunately they fluke a last minute winner, we go to Forest and waste countless easy chances and all of a sudden Arsenal have won three games in a row and are five points clear again.

I really feel like had they drawn to Villa which was looking likely then we probably end up beating Forest 4-0 which would've been a fair reflection of the game. We would've been two points clear which hasn't happened all season and their poor run of results becomes more than a temporary blip, and they possibly start to think their chance has gone.

I suppose there's not much point looking back now though as what's done is done and there could be plenty of twists and turns still to come. Hopefully, come the end of the season we'll have won the league and we can look back on that weekend as one that merely prolonged the title race rather than turned it in Arsenal's favour. They've been excellent thus far and are deservedly top but the hardest part is still to come and most of our players have been here numerous times before whereas, apart from two ex-City players, their's haven't.

Easy, take one game at a time and see where we end up. Plenty of twists and turns to come. Could do with Rags losing a game or two so just have the arse to focus on

60 points with 13 to go. With the Europa League and pressure I think they'll get, at worse, 86pts. 8 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses.

On 55pts that means for us 10 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses.

Already looks a challenge when written down based on form so far.

We have to be in a position to go above them, or within a couple of points when we play them at home. The final 5 for both teams look very tough.

The games after that for both sides will be definitive.

City's final 5 games (depending on FA Cup)
Fulham (a)
Leeds (h)
Everton (a)
Chelsea (h)
Brentford (a)

Arsenal's final 5
Chelsea (h)
Newcastle (a)
Brighton (h)
Forest (a)
Wolves (h)

Am I right in thinking this has been a generally amicable tile race in a long time for both of us? Like I dont mind if we dont win the title and you guys do. It seems like you also dont mind Arsenal winning from what I see here.

There doesnt seem to be any hostility compared to your title races against UTD/LIVERPOOL. We're both just acknowledging that whoever wins the league was probably the best team in the season. (Reposting here for visibility).

You're also leaving out Man Utd's fixture list who seem to have the easiest one left out of all us. Hope they dont sneak in at the top.

If we can't win it then I am ok with Arsenal. This World Cup season was always going to be difficult. For me it is always anyone but LFC or MUFC. I despise both these clubs and the way they are promoted in the media at the expense of everyone else.
