On the one hand, going out probably helps given their squad size. It doesn't bode well for next season, however, given their aim is CL football.

On the other, they've picked up more injuries, they're beginning to struggle keeping clean sheets, and it puts an awful lot of pressure on the league (as if they didn't need any more of that).

In pure football cliche, we just have to trust our own process, stay in as many competitions for as long as we can, and keep them honest. There's a lot of football left to play, but it feels to me like we are creaking into something like confidence and top gear. By my reckoning we can at most afford to drop points in one more game, as long as it's not Arsenal, and still be there or there abouts.

Can't do any harm palace sacked Patrick this morning. Expect a improvement in palace now. Hopefully
Wouldn't think they will appoint a manager before Sunday and even if they did they wouldn't take charge.
Will probably be the youth team manager in charge.

11 games for Arsenal and potentially 19 for us. Although both FA Cup & Champions League finals are after the season finishes.

We desperately need to beat them at our place to make it 2pts.

10 league games would be left and I can certainly see us catching those 2pts.

They cracked under pressure again last night and that pressure is only going to get bigger IF we keep winning.

Exciting times blues :)

Arsenal will drop points - but for us to stand a chance of the league as well as going deep in the 2 cup competitions they’ll need to drop points now, and the next game too. I don’t think there’s enough time left in the season for us to get our noses far enough in front to rotate what @petrusha has clearly explained to be quite a lot smaller a squad than in our treble* year. And Arsenal’s form won’t drop off a cliff either. Arsenal might win the league with a game to spare; cannot see us 3 points clear going down to Brentford.

The stars have to be aligned to get a Yernited Treble. Not this year for us, I think. Thank god I’m not an entitled so-and-so who thinks my club have a god-given right to win stuff every year.

*the club’s daft obsession with calling us the “fourmidables” has diluted its achievement of winning the domestic treble

So with 6 games to go and we are 4/6 points behind it’s over?

That's a really harsh sacking IMO. They've had an insane run of fixtures. Average table position of their opponents in 2023 is 5th.

If we’re getting kicked all over Europe midweek by inferior teams whilst Arsenal’s midfield are in the treatment room / light training between games in the spring sunshine… nope, not over - just unlikely. But you won’t hear any doubts from me while we’re playing. Up the Blues.
