How many points will be needed to win the league?

I am expecting Liverpool to be our closest challengers. They've bought well over summer and look like their period of "rebuilding" is proving it was the right thing to do. Klopp is second only to Pep in this league and he is the only other manager who's capable of putting some insane win-streaks together. They will come a close 2nd to us.

Arsenal still look good, but I think they'll struggle over the course of a season. I think they need, at least, a top class striker. Arteta has done brilliantly with them and I think if he can produce another good finish he might be off to a bigger club in Spain etc. They'll be a few points behind Liverpool in 3rd.

Spurs look absolutely brilliant this season and it shows what a good manager can do. The way they are playing makes them ideal to watch for the neutral. However, they aren't going to challenge for the title as their squad still needs some more players in. I expect them to come 4th.

United are a funny one as they started badly last year and somehow got going. I expected them to have had a better start but if anything, they've not progressed. I think behind the scenes, the likes of Maguire, Sancho and Antony must be having a really bad effect on the rest of them but that's nearly £250m of unhappy players. I think they'll come around 7th.

As a fairly sensible observer, I think Liverpool are definitely looking better this season but they do seem flaky defensively.

Arsenal, I agree, are looking good.

Spurs, however they flatter to deceive, do not have strength in depth. They’re incapable of mounting a challenge.

its Arsenal or City again

Arteta going to Real Madrid then?

Would love to enter into a monetary bet about where Arteta will be managing in the seasons ahead.

I'm not so sure you can call yourself a sensible observer if you dismiss Spurs and then suggest Arsenal can mount a challenge! It's Liverpool or City this season.

We've got a testing time coming up with injuries and games potentially being lost because of it. We might need to pick ourselves up before getting into that post Christmas period run that the team do so well.
I am hoping lfc dont get on a run though, they look like they could and we could be playing catch up with them. I dont see Arsenal as contenders but they have surprised me this year, they do look like they've improved the team and improved the mentality. Likewise Spurs, they look good and Son is relishing being out of the Kane shadow.

Its a long season though obviously, lots of twists and turns to go yet.

And a January transfer window too.
