Imo, this season is like last season. We'll be 5-6 pts off the top when we come back from the WC, but with a game in hand. Will be interesting. 20 teams play, City win :)
 
Kneejerk reaction thread, enjoyable but infused with recency bias.

As such this week City have no chance of winning the league, it’s definitely gonna be Arsenal or the dippers or Newcastle
 
We miss too many chances and concede far too easily at the moment. We’ve thrown away 6 points in the last 3 matches. Arsenal aren’t playing that well but they aren’t conceding, Liverpool aren’t playing well but pulling results out. We’re throwing them away.

We’re the best team in the league but we’re not remotely playing like it. Our small squad is killing us at the moment.

We can win the league but we need to find form now. We’ve had 3 tough fixtures and thrown away leads in all of them.
 
We might win it we might not it’ll be what it’ll be, anyone thinking they know now though have learnt nothing from watching us the past few years.
Probably will win it as we aren’t at our best but we aren’t 8 points behind either.
 
Think it’s between Arsenal and Dippers.
Arsenal look strong at both ends, and have improved their squad depth.
Dippers seem to be getting all the officiating help and have goal scorers throughout the team.
We lack the squad quality/depth this season and have seriously regressed from last season. Transfers have been poor, Pep losing his assistants each year clearly not helping and we just cannot defend anymore despite adding Gvardiol to last seasons squad in place of Laporte. We just do not have enough goal scorers in the team and are incredibly weak in midfield with no cover for Rodri.
3rd is where I think we will finish
 
fixture to fixture we must be quite under last years run which is a bit alarming.
Pool home, Chelsea away, Spurs home were all wins last season, same as Wolves away and Arse away. thats 15 points vs 3 this season.
4x of these games we were in the lead and couldnt win any. seeing out games is a serious issue so far this season.

quite shit to see Arsenal and Pool winning last minutes while we keep throwing away crucial leads in last 5-10 mins.

clean sheets look impossible for us now for whatever reason.
 
Success for the football fan is like the blood that a vampire needs to survive. It only takes a few tastes before you can't exist without it.
 
I stand by my statement of a few months back that nobody will end up within 10 points of City. For all the disappointment of the last 3 games, it’s still 3 unbeaten against ‘top’ clubs.

Liverpool will end up closest but they’re also abysmal defensively and made unbelievably hard work if it against Fulham…..they’ll drop a tonne of points over the next 2 months along with Arsenal.

Yeah tbf I thought we'd have learned from that. The subs seemed to suggest an attempt. But it didn't work.
