If it's the last day with us needing favours then I don't think it will happen unfortunately. The team with the best GD nearly always wins the league I'm sorry to say, going to be very close for sure probably last day.
Completely agree. If we don’t win a trophy, no panic. Sit down in the summer and try to put it right the following season. Not strange. I feel it here too. This is not a vintage season, it has not been a vintage season. To not beat your two direct rivals to be champions at all during the season is, to put it mildly, not a very convincing qualification.
It also consoles — a lot — that we have a serious chance of winning the F.A. Cup, and (I believe this, and don't quite know why we're being written off by some) the Champions League. Sure, I've just said we're not great. But Real are not great, either. Nobody who's left really worries me. Funnily enough, if Inter or Bayer Leverkusen were in it, I'd feel differently. We all know that the best team in Europe that year is not necessarily who wins it (although it definitely was the case last June!). We'll have a better idea at the end of the evening on Tuesday.
Oh and we may still be PL champions, of course. The rags had a knack of not turning in vintage seasons from time to time, and still being at the top of the table when all the shouting had died down. Used to piss me off no end. Is the irony now that we have acquired that knack? It will sure as hell piss off others. I'd back us to win all our games from here on in. I really would. The problem is we need two other teams to drop points now. I have my doubts about that. One, maybe. But both?
What we must never become is entitled. I would hate City fans if they became that (there are now signs of it among our younger supporters). High expectations, yes. Entitled — never. If we win no trophies this season, I'll be hugely disappointed, but I'll still thank the team and the club for giving me times that I never expected to see.
That’s going to be a weird dynamic. All four of the PL titles we’ve clinched on the final day saw us in control of things - win and we’d be champions irrespective of what happened elsewhere. If it's the last day with us needing favours then I don't think it will happen unfortunately.
A couple of posters have said we'll win it by a couple of points. Whilst not ruling it out I don't see it atm personally. However, things can change quickly with a couple of duff results. The fact we require 2 teams to balls up makes it a lot tougher though. We need to be perfect result wise from now on to have a chance. That’s going to be a weird dynamic. All four of the PL titles we’ve clinched on the final day saw us in control of things - win and we’d be champions irrespective of what happened elsewhere.
The prospect of having to be desperately aware of result(s) elsewhere isn’t a nice prospect. Of course it could all turn out great but if we ultimately fall short, I’d rather know ahead of that Sunday rather than at the final whistle.
Every promotion too we have been big favouraites on the last day as far as I can remember too. That’s going to be a weird dynamic. All four of the PL titles we’ve clinched on the final day saw us in control of things - win and we’d be champions irrespective of what happened elsewhere.

If we win the remaining 7 games then we haven't blew it. 91 points would be a great return.Naw we blew it earlier on in the season with all the draws - Spurs, Chelski etc…
Won it all last season, in a 3 way battle so you can't really do much other than win your games and for that reason I don't expect us to win it, so a lot more relaxed as you say.Strangely relaxed about not winning the league. Wft is that all about?
Don’t get me wrong, if we somehow get in front then I will be nervous as hell but chasing like this while running out of games and having the disruptive up and down season. I kinda of expect us to not get the job done eventually in a season.
Hate the challengers but what you going to do?
You got to love pep, the player, the hierarchy at the club. None of them give up. We are here yet again trying to win everything. It’s mental, so so proud to be a blue win or lose. #what a club -:)
One time when we got a bit of last day help was the 2015-16 CL group stage when Juventus surprisingly lost at Sevilla meaning we finished top of our group for the first time ever after our win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.Every promotion too we have been big favouraites on the last day as far as I can remember too.
Charlton - just needed to win and they had a 16 year old debutant keeper.
Bradford and Blackburn, just needed a draw.
Where we have needed favours like in 1987 when wee didn't win anyway, and 1996 where we matched the other team and needed a better result, and 1998 where we won but needed one of the other two not to, we have always gone down.
Even in 2011 CL groups we needed Valencia to get something, it was never going to happen.
The only time was probably in 2011 when we qualified for CL group stages at Bolton due to Arsenal not winning.
Correct. Only time in his managerial career.Just curious. Am I right in thinking that ’16-’17 is the one season in which Pep went trophyless?
We didn’t need to just win against Charlton. Going into that game we were level on points with Portsmouth (who we had beaten three games prior) and with a superior goal difference to them of plus five. We could plausibly have won against Charlton and still not been promoted.Every promotion too we have been big favouraites on the last day as far as I can remember too.

Well said. Also, if I remember correctly we were 8 points behind the rags in 2012 with 6 games to play and that team didn’t have the mentality of this team.Watched The Netflix doc up to 4, going to watch the last 2 tonight before I set off for Madrid tomoz just to get me in the mood.
For any Blues who are cacking their panties about Arsenal / Liverpool challenge this season please some take comfort in the absolute beast mentality of this team fronted by the greatest manager of all time.

Zero relevance. We've dropped points in 10 games...
