Easier said than done, but with a few players returning we need some decent performances over the next few weeks.

Hopefully that will provide confidence and ultimately goals

No use worrying about Liverpool or Arsenal as their results are out of our hands
However we might be a lot stronger by the time of the return matches

Hate to say this but we have the rags coming up...another team full of pace who can play on the break and with a higher pressing midfield.....

Play like we are and even that lot will beat us

They play 38 games for a reason

The reason being that it doesn't matter what attention seeking, kneejerk reaction spanners think is wrong at any given point of the season that suits their poorly thought out narrative, it only matters where we are after 38 games.

This squad have more than enough credit in the bank for us to postpone judgement on this currently faltering campaign until much much later in the season
Yes. Technically its not over. And yes, this squad has earned our patience. But there are some system problems on our team exacerbated by our lack of healthy personnel. I don't really see this getting better until January when the PL will likely be more out of reach than now. Yes, they play 38 for a reason. But I think most of us here know footy and we/they know that the current iteration of our team isn't displaying the quality we have grown accustomed to seeing. Let's still support our boys and coach and stay in the top 5.

But those players still had it in them.

Most of these players are finished now, and should be being used sporadically.

Plus Liverpool were prone to slipping up in a few games in the season you mention. This season is the best I have seen them. They look "complete". They don't concede many and have a lethal front line with a midfield that has energy and doesn't mind sticking their foot in when required.

No way we pull 11 points back with this set of players. The dream is over. Back to the real world for this season unfortunately.
Reminds me of us in 6 of the last 7 seasons.
Sadly that isn't us this year, we can all list reasons why.
I'll be interested to see if Pep is really the fraud everyone outside City thinks he is - I don't believe he is btw.
The recruitment in Jan, and the summer, has to be top notch now

I'll say it again! We still went 10pts behind.

The picture is becoming clearer now on what is required. I said 5 or 6 a few weeks back and copped flak off a few. With summer departures I think it may well be that. The "1 or 2 and we'll be good to go" posters have gone very quiet.

We need a a lot more than 1 or 2 & they also have to be starters and not just squad filler.
Fuck the net spend trophy
