How many points to win the league?

Can't see is turning it around in the league once the gap gets to 8+ points.

It's been done before but there's too many holes in this team, a few players that look finished at this level and missing the world's best footballer.

At least it's become absolutely clear that this squad a good few serious replacements and the club will deliver, I've no doubt about that. We probably should have recruited better and prepared for the inevitably of some players becoming over the hill and injuries, but there's no point in dwelling on that now.

I think winning the league by climbing out of a hole will be a step too far this season. If we do it, I'd put it right up there with our greatest achievement, given the fact we're carrying players at this level.

This isn't a defeatist attitude, just the reality of the situation. We've won the last 4, the time was coming where we dont win it.

It can't be easy having a vastly different back 4 each game with Gundo in front of them. Not that it's going to change any time soon.

Going to be interesting though, charges aside, to see how this pans out. Not that losing the league is anything less than painful, but we simply can't win it every season and it'll be good to go back to just winning games instead of breaking records.

It’ll be 11pts next week with about a 25 goal difference swing when they smash Southampton and put a few past us

Worth pointing out that every team has a blip every season. Arsenal have had one, City are in one. Dippers will have one. I remember at the start of the season thinking 'damn it City keep winning games and this is supposedly their shit part of the season'. Contrast to today. And some of you guys are lamenting the fact that the title has 'gone' because you're so far behind the victims yet you forget they'll go through a period where they will drop points.

Nothing is over and just take a look at your fixtures from end Feb onwards, compare them with the Dippers. Arsenal also have an easy run in apart from a trip to Anfield.

So it seems like the title is a million miles away yet things will absolutely change. I'll put money on it that the top 2 will be City and Arsenal, not sure what order that will be but while it seems ridiculous now I'll wager Liverpool get 3rd as they've had a piss easy fixture list so far - even their 1 tough game at the Emirates they were playing a depleted Arsenal team that lost its back line during the game. They'll have much trickier fixtures to come, they'll come thick and fast and they'll be balancing with the CL.

Only thing I'd say is watching today's match I did feel some of the City players weren't giving 100%. Savinho for one. Akanji also. Pep will need to look at that as the minimum expectation to play for a Pep side is you work like hell for the team.

Every season before Xmas City have 'lost the title'. Every season. Then once Feb arrives they get their shit together and grind it out. Why would it be any different this time?
We’ll be 15+ points behind Liverpool in February. If you can’t see how this season is different, watch more closely! We have one of the worst midfields in the league. It’s unable to run, defend in transition, attack in transition, win duels, create, recover 2nd balls. And there are no solutions to it. Literally none. Other than signing 3+ players in January, which obviously we won’t.

I dont like this post but I agree with you.Not even thinking about the title with this squad. Top 4 should be our aim.

No chance IMO of winning the title without our best player and the aging and injured stalwarts we still have to rely on.

I suspect this will be the first season in 16 years we miss out on Champions League football.

No need to panic without Chumps League for a season maybe two , it hasn't hurt the likes of Chelsea , Liverpool and Arsenal in years gone by nearly as much as some would have you believe.

The rebuild is clear now so lets be patient and enjoy the next phase.

Well done to BS , KW , KDB , JS, IG and the likes its time to move on they have all served us well their time has come.

Leicester had 1 big wank.
We've just had 4 without stopping cumin.
The dippers get hard but can't cum.
And the rags haven't had a bone on for 12 years.

no idea where that philosophy cum from
Must have been watching all the stiffs in our team. Have you finished up and washed your hands now?

If we can just change our set up a little and be somewhat more conservative then maybe we'll also be able to watch some football.

We've played some incredible games in the champs league and an occasional league game vs Dippers but this constant us vs the full parked bus and passing across 11 in the box trying to find the perfect ball is a bit painful, especially without Kev firing.

Another good humping at Anfield and a big Villa win and we may be 8th this time next week and 11 points behind the leaders. I sincerely doubt Liverpool are going to lose 4 more games than us for the rest of the season.
Carry on as we are and we'll be in the Europa League next year.
We need to fix this and sharpish. Time to get the fairy dust out Pep and do what you do.

It just goes to show how much we relied on Rodri to play that Us v Bus style thats been mostly successful.Trouble is it's come back to haunt us because teams are playing through us and we don't seem to have style. We have to trust Pep to find a new way of playing but it's going to take time and of course having all our best players back maybe a couple of new guys too. It wont be in time to challenge the dippers unfortunately but hopefully We can get top 4. Going to be tough though Arsenal, Chelsea seemed to have found their rhythm while the likes of Brighton and Villa may surprise a few. The rags will probably come good and be in the mix.
