Fucking hell, we're in for a rough ride here. Feels like we’re stumbling over the finish line. 50:50 chance of making top 5 now.
Chelsea last four games are brutal. We could do with Villa beating PSG so they are occupied during the last few weeks. We have to beat Palace on Saturday.

Don’t agree about Chelsea. The dippers will be on the beach by then, the rags too, Newcastle is very tricky but I think last game of the season they’ll find a Forest team in free fall, deflated by their SF defeat and a long hard season catching up to them.

City 3rd, Chelsea 4th

I think we have to be quite honest and say we now have a mountain to climb to get a top 5 slot with still some difficult fixtures to complete.
This also could have an adverse problem for any top players wanting to come in the summer should we not reach our goal.
I`m being honest and not a fucking bed wetter.
Think we can tell em it’s only a one year CL absence and 250,000K a week to sweeten the deal

TBH we should have been out of sight without a chance weeks back, every week except the odd result seems to go our way, 5th it is and the season starts on sat morning

been having this chat with some.mates and when we put it together form wise we have only lost 3 games since christmas all to the top 3.

we are on course to battle villa for 5th/6th imho Newcastle.will get 4th chelseas run in the hardest

I see 3 wins and 4 draws all turgid and souless but still keeping us in contention

I think Newcastle will finish 3rd. So it’ll drag Forest into it with us Chelsea and Villa (and possibly Fulham).

City v Villa is a massive game now.

All the other teams look more ‘at it’ than we do. Playing with good intensity and rhythm. Saying that, I’ve not watched Chelsea since we beat them so can’t say the same for them, maybe they are?

Always funny this time of year that in the blue moon imaginary rivals who have been just as up and down as us all season become world beaters with easy fixtures.

Both Newcastle and Villa have both been playing well in recent weeks, both winning their last three games, while we’ve not lost we’ve dropped 4 points from our last three games and looked lacklustre.

But this is where we now need to go on a run and put the pressure back on them.

I think both Newcastle and Villa have hit a rich vein of form over the last month something we havent shown in many months. Hopefully fixture congestion will get in the way of Villa in the weeks ahead but Newcastle look nto be on a ,I cant see the rags doing a number on them anyway. I am sticking with my prediction made at the start of this thread that we will just about scrape in. May be forced to change that lunchtime Saturday though.

For a typical season we would look at this run in fixtures and would expect to win them all but this season getting results is going to be tough. 3 points against Palace and Everton are a must but neither of those will be easy. Hard to know which City will show up at moment.

Top 5 place definitely qualifies for next seasons Champions league? Does this change the criteria if Arsenal (or VIlla) win the competition this season and also finish in top five

No. If Arsenal or Villa win the CL and finish in top five nothing changes.
If Villa were to win it and finish sixth or lower, they would qualify in addition to the top five - I’ll presume that Arsenal won’t be slipping that far so that won’t apply in their case.

bit strange for Mbappe that PSG looks better without him and the CL winner + La Liga winner Real looks to win fuck all with him now.
