we just concentrate on beating wolves next game week, the other 4 have banana skin games and some will drop points, again the following week as Newcastle play chelsea, things will be fine with the remaining fixtures we have
Exactly it's the politics of the next game at this stage. The Wolves game now becomes every bit as important as the Villa match. Let's hope we can put it to bed a bit earlier.

We have done the hard part winning both the Villa and Everton games. I'm confident we will secure the points we need from the remaining games we have.

Villa look as if they are the first team to drop out of the race. 5 points behind Newcastle. 4 points behind City. If Forest win their game in hand, Villa will be 6 points behind Forest.

City, Newcastle, Forest, and Chelsea for the 3 remaining CL places. Forest play Chelsea last game of the season.
Chelsea have to play Forest and Newcastle so at least one of them has to drop out of the top 5 based on those results

So we’ve established we aren’t in a title race this season, and we’re only two or three wins away from avoiding relegation. Therefore, the aim for this season is to finish in the Top 4.

As things stand, as low as 12th in the league are only three wins away from 4th place. With us being just four points off 4th, currently.

If we weren’t playing well but were only four points off the top of the league, we’d be confident of still winning the title. Yet we’re up against teams who are going to drop a hell of a lot more points than teams we’ve had title run-ins with, so this is a different type of race, but one where’s there’s no reason why we can’t achieve it.
Fuck me, I forgot how bad the start of the season was for us. I voted no, by the way.

City will ideally have to win every game.

I am not buying this hope towards Chelsea's fixture list.

They will playing a Liverpool team who will have been on the piss for a week at home next week, a United team that doesn't care about the league anymore and a Forest team who in my opinion will have it sewn up by the final day.

Only Newcastle away is the standout banana skin for me for Chelsea.

71 points will be needed meaning City can only afford 1 draw.

Agree with this

Certainly tight, I'm not sure how we're digging out late season form but we are!

Incidentally, Willy Caballero 'in charge' of chelsea today with Maresca serving a touchline ban.

Forest playing tonight
Interesting to see are they affected by the FA cup deg ceat at the weekend.
Win and they are back up to 3rd, 6 points ahead if Villa.

Forest's fans as bad as they were when Rico scored. Silence.

Easy to look at that Chelsea game being potentially a playoff but if they're not careful they'll be out of it before then.

If brentford hold on to win tonight, I think barring a points difference miracle, 9 more points guarantees us top 5 because of forest playing chelsea last game. May be less depending on other results.

Good that we will have a game in hand on everyone so will know what we need from the last 2 games to guarantee qualification and can plan tactics and team selection accordingly.

93.75% chance of top 5. Highest I’ve seen it.

94.9% now

Assuming our goal difference is favourable, which it almost certainly will be to Villa and Forest - 69 points (so 2 wins - 2 draws), seals it. And it can literally only go down from there, any points dropped this weekend is likely to reduce that requirement because of the combination of matches remaining.

So much for the people on here last week adamant we would need 70+ points. That fell apart predictably quickly.
