The Tottenham Thread 12/13

A couple of us compared the squads as another poster said Spurs had a superior squad.

We know that football is not played on paper.

Fair enough, but I'm surprised people would choose liverpools squad over spurs'

It's probably the poorest I've seen it in many years. This is the strongest spurs squad in over 20 years.

It'll be interesting if Rodgers carries on his attractive football there. They were quite poor to watch under the 'king'

I'll look forward to reading all the backtracking from spurs fans if they get a huge investment. I've had a quick look and it's already started, apparently it's ok for them to spend money because we did it first. What about it not being fair on all the other Prem clubs ? They don't seem arsed about that now. Bunch of fucking hypocrites.

You're wrong. Theres a thread on Glory-Glory where a large portion of us hope it is avoided.

Personally if Spurs became a club like City, I'd cease to follow football with the kind of dedication I do now. I'd keep an eye out for the scores and watch Match of the Day, but that'd be about it for me.

I'm fairly disillusioned with football now anyway because of the inability to compete on a financial level and my interest is trending towards other sports, a buy out of Spurs would be the final nail in the coffin.
Fucking hell, get over yourself. You just aren't that important, and no one, absolutely no one will give a shite if you start following rugby union, cricket or some other non-sport. Football has been about money since Sky came in. Christ, get off your high horse.

Your wrong mate, Football has been about money long before Sky. Sky have just taken it to a new level.

Liverpool always bought the top players in the 70's and 80's and Clough was given enough dosh to form a great squad too. Tapping up and stuff was pretty much the norm then.

United took full advantage of merchandising and the premier league era.

We're pretty fortunate that a Sheikh came along otherwise it could have easily become a Spanish/Scottish type league, or with just one winner. Only a team like the invincibles come along once in a blue moon as well

If you were to post that entire third paragraph on GG, I believe they would find your address and egg your house.

Tbh i was thinking more "deliverance" :p

I agree with him though, it was getting boring and we were just very lucky and had some good contacts that helped us to where we are now.
Anyone smashing the established order got my vote.

Are spurs getting some cash injected or something ? i have not kept a close eye on your lot this summer tbh.

Most footy fans accepted Liverpool and United's dominance for the past 30-40 years.

It's as if we all roll over like a jack russell and accept it sometimes. I think that's the way some fans feel in Scotland and Spain.

I don't see anyone trying to conquer the big two in Spain, but doing it in France and England.

Went a bit off topic, Spurs for the title please!

Both Walker and Bale played in a friendly against LA Galaxy days before the Olympics. Yet both are too injured for Team GB.

I thought this is against the rules?

Reminded me of how most of Utd's players pick up injuries whenever theres an international friendly round the corner.

It's a joke.
