They play with two defensive players every game, It says something when there best attacking player is Andreas fucking Townsend... They are going to miss Bales directness, pace and power dramatically. They won't break teams down.

That said, we struggled to break teams down at times with Bale in the squad. However, I think that many Spurs fans would agree that what cost us the CL last year was an inability to see out some leads late against a few inferior sides. Especially at the start of the season. The 2 1-nils this year are very much the types of games where we might have dropped points in years past.

The two 1-nils are the games which you won 1-nil last year as well. The difference is last year you had Bale pulling out a screamer while this time you have Townsend diving to win penalties. This is not an improvement as you want to present it.

Fair play to Spurs and their fans in my opinion as they have signed some real quality and the future looks very bright for them.

If it dislodges yet another of the old guard them i for one will be as happy as fuck.

On paper, we should beat them but we've not had too happy a time of it at the Emirates in the past few years.

I think this game will be won or lost in the midfield, so I have to fancy Spurs.
