I don't think they'll push for the title this season if Bale does go. They sign 7 players which will pretty much go straight into the team and they expect them to gel instantly?

This Spurs fan has no delusions along those lines. I have, however, harbored this (ridiculous) hope all summer that we would hold on to Bale and that there would be this Oh Shit!! moment from the rest of league when the narrative changed from "Look what Spurs are doing with all of the Bale money" to "Holy hell!! Spurs bought all of this AND they're keeping Bale!!". In that case, I think we might have harbored thoughts of a title. Pipe dream at this point, but it would have been nice...

Spurs did better in the market than City imo

Lamela>Jovetic
Soldado>Negredo
Eriksen>Navas
Paulinho><Fernandinho
Capoue
Chadli
Chiriches

£107M vs £97M

I really wouldn't want to pass comment on City's transfer dealings this summer, but I can tell you that just about every Spurs fan is over the moon about our transfer window.

And word is that we're not finished yet - there could well be another surprise or two before the deadline.

Spurs are having an absolutely superb summer. For the first time, I will be tuning in to see quality on display and not just the race for 4th.

We shall see. I would add that we needed to do more than City.

Edited for accuracy:

Lamela=Jovetic, very statistically similar
Soldado=Negredo, also statistically similar
EriksenxNavas, apples and oranges
Paulinho<Fernandinho, more dynamic as you'll soon find out
Capoue
Chadli
Chiriches

£107M vs £97M

Some of those comparisons are debatable, but what isn't debatable is that Spurs now have a fantastic squad. Should be a great season for them.

Bale has agreed personal terms with Madrid. All the major news agencies are reporting that
Its just a question of when its going to happen not if

Well that's wonderful.

Except that Bale is a Spurs player and until Real Madrid agree to meet Tottenham Hotspur's valuation of him and payment method he will remain a Spurs player.

Agreed. Their window has been fantastic. They are going to be right up there. Have to hand it to Levy he has done very well. In comparing players there is not much between Alvaro and Soldado, I think Jesus is superior to Lamela, despite the doubters I still think Fernandinho is superior to Paulinho, and once we get Jovetic up and running (I wonder what his injury is?) I think he will be a revelation. Hard to compare him and Eriksen.

So all up well done to Spuds, they have a great squad, but I reckon overall we still have the superior group.

Potentially one of the best squad overhauls in recent times. Defence needs to be improved but they can do that in Jan if in top 3.

They've replaced Bale with strength in depth, only Soldado improves last seasons best Spurs 11. Top four should be a certainty with a squad full of good players.

Lamela > Lennon
Erikson > Sigurdsson/Holtby
Paulinho > Dembele.

They've easily gotten better with the Bale sale. Especially if they sign a LB as well.
