Sandro, Van der Vaart, Huddlestone, Gallas, Kaboul, Lennon, Defoe all out = an excellent point gained.

Parker was absolutely immense tonight. A truly awe-inspiring defensive performance, I don't think I've ever seen one player get on in so many blocks in one game.

You sound just like the pundits on Sky!

Now someone from Spuds is giving a radio interview saying that they never lose to the better sides. WTF? We have beaten them twice, including a 1-5 thrashing ... and the rags have demolished them this season to boot and may shortly do so again. Dear God, the delusion.

Yeah, because it's who only Spurs fans who phone up the radio and make inaccurate claims!

Yeah, but you're biased (and there's nothing wrong about that, you being a fan and all). I thought the Sky mob were going to snap their collective cocks off tonight, with all the praise they were giving Scotty™!

Spuds don't think they can win the league. They played for a point tonight even if they don't admit it.

We were a one on one with the keeper chance away from winning it, with 4 first teamers out and no manager, the way we played the game was fine. More than fine actually.

yep, you where but it was clear you played to not lose and to secure CL spot.

No chance the team who wants to win the title would play a game like this. Specially not one who are 5 points behind.

This was definitely a sign they you have given up from the title and want to secure C L spot in this hard run of a games against other CL spot contenders. And I think it's actually good thing to do as you don't have a chance to win it anymore.

If you'd watched the game you would have seen the praise was well earned.

I did watch the game. He played well, no question. But he also committed a fair few fouls before he finally got his yellow card. Still; each to their own.

No-one has given us a chance to win the title all season. It's only because our form has propelled us into the top 3 that it started getting talked about.

Even Redknapp only ever said "it's not impossible".

If you look on BBC's website you can see their predictions for the top 4 from the start of the season from about 20 different staff on their books....not one of them put Spurs in there, not one. That just puts into perspective how well we're doing this season.

-- Mon Feb 06, 2012 11:54 pm --

Did people ever criticize Gattuso 'for making a fair few fouls' when he had one of his barnstroming midfield performances?

I doubt it tbh.

Should the Sky folks have slated him for making a couple of mis-timed tackles on a slippery pitch?

What has Gattuso got to do with it? If you want to compare, try comparing players playing in the same league. For instance, VK got booked for his first challenge at Everton last week. Fair, or not? Anyway, I'm off to bed; 6:30 alarm for work in the morning.

Of course nobody had you on the mind on the beginning but you were definitely legitimate candidates before you lost at our place.

Now it's obvious people behind the team don't believe it's possible anymore otherwise you would play for 3 points tonight no matter what. It was still 5 points behind only but they have chosen to play to stop other teams closing the gap in fight for CL spots.

And I really understand that. I think you've lost your momentum and with 4 hard games coming you could easily hijack your strong CL position if you would lost lot of points in those games. 3 eventual defeats in those 4 and Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool would come very close and you would fight to death to secure CL next year.

Yeah, just seen spurs next 6 games and all are damn tough.
Stoke at home looks the least difficult but you never know with Stoke, a tough team to beat on their day for anyone.

I wonder how long Scott Parker has left in him. He's all over the pitch like a blue arsed fly, he can't keep those sort of energy levels up forever and he's 32 already. Typical short term 'arry style appointment.

If we can get another season out of him playing at his current level of performance then it will have been five million well spent. We have Sandro (class) ready to take his place as our main midfield destroyer at any time.

look at the last 99 though.

yes bale is mustard but ronaldo wasn't exactly setting the world on fire with his first year or 2.

He was still pretty damn good, a world class talent for all to see.

And don't forget that Bale started out as a luckless left back in an average team, although to be fair he plays in a good one now lol

If you're tying to compare Bale to Ronaldo just GTFO with your dignity. Come back when he's scoring 50 goals a season on a regular basis. The hype is just ridiculous. "Ridiculous" isn't even a strong enough word. He's a great player, why do Spurs and the media feel the need to make it more than it is? Do you know how immense Mata has been for Chelsea this season week in week out? All he gets is "he's a poor man's Silva".

Also, after his performance today, is it really a good idea to come on and start making comparisons like that?
