Everyone knows that Mourinho, for instance, is a ruthless bastard. He doesn't even try to hide it; in fact he built a reputation on it. Harry gets up to this shit and is the first to cry and moan to the press when it happens to him. Its the hypocrisy. Ferguson is another offender for this, but even he isn't as bad as Harry with the constant whining.

Why is it necessary for Harry or Levy to make these "Gentlemen's agreements" when they have absolutely no intention of living up to them? Its dishonest and in bad faith.

Well, that's what a contract is for. If you want a clause in your contract you don't do it on a gentlemans agreement. Who knows whether this is true or not anyway.

So it's ok for Jose to do it because he has a reputation? That's like me saying it's ok for Ian Huntley to touch up children because he's got previous.

If people are crying over bungs, tapping up, gentlemans agreement, gamesmanship etc. They haven't been watching football long enough. This was pretty much the norm in the Clough era and even now compensation packages are provided for this sort of stuff.

Anyway, as Spurssprinter said Defoe should be ahead of Saha anyway. If people want to cry over Moyes and Everton that's up to them

No no, you're affirming a disjunctive there. I didn't say that what Mourinho does is fine because of his reputation, I said that Mourinho isn't a hypocrite about it. Of course he's not acting honourably when he's tapping up players, but he doesn't go and say one thing and do another, then complain about other people doing the exact thing he's just gone and done. Thats Harry's field.

I don't really care enough about Everton to argue on their behalf. But if you can't see the reputation THFC is surrounding itself in, or worse, you don't mind; then thats your prerogative. Eventually this sort of behaviour catches up with you, in all walks of life. Like Bale and the cheating. I remember when Drogba had a reputation for diving; he still can't buy a penalty and he doesn't even do it any more. If Spurs want to be known as dishonourable and backstabbing in business, thats fine by me.

Laughable people want Harry done over a supposed "gentlemans agreement" it's not a binding contract.

It's not a case of wanting "Harry done" it's more a case of providing proof of what a despicable, lying, two faced **** he really is.
I detest Moyes, but if he is telling the truth then there is no way you can defend 'arry. Breaking a gentleman's agreement is pretty fucking low.

On a side note, it was interesting to hear Gareth Bale admitting that he'd managed to get two players sent off this season by diving. I hope it backfires hugely and the cheating, monkey faced **** doesn't get a single favourable decision for the rest of his career.

I haven't seen 'arry's media bumchums make much of an issue about that either.

That was him being misquoted, and Talksport have been critizcing Bale all day long, but according to everyone on here, the media loves Spurs and the media hate City and the FA have an agenda against them.

As I said a gentlemans agreement is not binding.

For some reason people find it perfectally acceptable that Ashley Cole has secret meetings with clubs, Berbatov can be driven away in Fergie's Bentley and our director of football Arnesen can be tapped up under contract too, but a break of a Gentlemans Agreement is deemed illegal.
Course it isn't but if you break it then it shows how much of a **** you are.

And Harry is showing that (once again)

Misquoted ? He admitted he'd got two players sent off by diving, that's not being misquoted.
As for Cole, the whole world knows what a despicable **** he is and it's laughable to suggest he is somehow given preferential treatment by the media. The media absolutely detest him for cheating on the 'nations current sweetheart'.

No media will upset bacon face, they saw what happened to the bbc and being kept out of the "biggest club in the world TM" is not good business.

Again I reiterate, the legality of a gentleman's agreement is not the issue. It's the fact that if you break it, you're a shyster! no iffs no buts.

A gentlemans agreement may not be binding to some, but to others who actually have morals and a shred of decency, their word is fuckin everything, without it, they are nothing.

Had a round of golf 2 years ago with that interviewer (Rob Palmer), top bloke, big friends with Brian Marwood. Also told me we were signing kolarov and balotelli well before they did

I jest...

Anyway, nice day for some football, well up for today, first trip to Goodison. Think it'll be a draw, Everton have been a bit of a bogey team for us, although not as much as they have been for you folks.

David Moyes is SUCH an utter twat. Hope his poxy team wins today, though. That would make the Gooner's game on Monday pretty interesting.

I've always quite liked David Moyes to be honest, don't have the same kind of history with Spurs and Everton though, seems decent in his interviews imo but most will probably disagree on this board.

He is a **** who now only has 2 cup finals a year.

Are you happy that 'arry will probably use the england job to secure his future at spurs? No doubt he'll be given money to to overpay for more saha's off this world.

Personally i think he's been found out and if i was in your position I'd want him to fuck off before he ruins you like he has with every other club he's had his fingers in.

How have we overpaid for Saha? We got him for free and he'd have scored more than Torres and Carroll save for two goal line clearances from Parker against Stevenage and Ade against United.

Don't think he's been found out, he's put together one of the best teams I've seen in my time and 3rd place and an fa cup is a possibility, I'd say that'd be an unbelievable season, as oppose to being found out.

Thanks for spelling my name right though :)

Mat is bang on the money for me and a Spurs side with Arry in charge next year wont worry me one bit but a top class manager with a proven track record (not a fictitious one made up by the media to suit) will be a real threat imo.

If you lose to the blue dippers that's 3 on the bounce, naturally he'll blame all the engerland bollocks. I think you'll drop like a stone if that happens.

Everyone knows that harry's a bit of a dodgy character "lovable cockney rogue" as the media protray him. So why oh why would you shake his hand and act suprised when his goes back on his word. The only reason i can think of is that moyles just like to whinge like a bitch hence him going crying to the press.

hopefully it will be a good game in which i dont give a fying toss about the outcome of off so heres hoping for a few goals and some tasty challenges Bale getting crocked off neville and the ref waving play on after him admitting diving would be potetic justice though.

FYI, the "agreement" was that Spurs woudn't use Saha tomorrow if there were other options available.

We have Adebayor and Defoe both fully fit, so I can't see Saha playing at Goodison Park anyway.
To be honest, if we were in the same situation I'd say fuck the gentleman's agreement - it's about points in the bag and finishing in the top four. If Moyes had any scruples and acted like a gentleman then fair enough, but he doesn't exactly hold the moral high ground here. Fuck him and the gentleman's agreement.

Isn't that kind of agreement tantamount to match rigging?
