Without Kante, Leicester's system doesn't work

I think every team should try to stop him, not Vardy or Mahrez, as that is what is stopping them from conceding goals.

Kante is a monster and is the one player I would spend an absolute fortune on - more so than Pogba actually. He has it all both in defence and when attacking. His range of passing over 10, 20 and 30 yards is simply astonishing.

I know. They've won 7 PL games 1-0 this season, which is about 20% of games played. Since January, they've won 10 and six of those have been 1-0, so it probably feels like they've been a tad fortunate. Most seasons there are 1050-1075 goals scored but last season was down below 1000 and this one will be as well. The rags are 5th and have scored 40 in 33, so 1-0 seems like it might get the job done this season. It's the reason Spurs could still win it, as they're not dependent on not conceding late and that costing them points.

Been trying to do a bit of research on Kante. His stats this season aren't surprising when you compare them to last season, if anything they were better last season albeit in a worse league. He averaged more passes, more key passes, more through balls, more crosses, more shots, more dribbles, more tackles. For Leicester he's had more blocks, more clearances, more interceptions.

Looking at his Caen highlights, he almost looks a different type of player, less defensive minded. Even in 2013-14 they just scraped promotion. At 22 he was playing 3rd tier French football, still young but its almost been a similar growth to the top that Vardy has had, although Vardy at least had a season at Sheffield Wednesday when they were not long out of the premier league.

I've never ever seen a player sprint so much during games. He's in a two man midfield aswell, City fans all know how easy it is to get overrun when it's 3v2 in there, but Kante is overrunning 3 man midfields with ease.

It puts me in mind of when one of our midfielders from a few years back turned himself into Superman, apparently after a summer doing some gym work in Glossop. Looked a different player after that.

kante is the player that everyone will want in the summer.

he proved it at caen last season and i think even before that he was in the team of the season in ligue 2 so his rise has been going on for a few seasons now.

with vardy and mahrez nobody knows if they are one season wonders yet and with the money leicester would demand for them i cannot see them leaving.

if mahrez matches if not betters this season next season i reckon we could be talking 50m+ for him.

not sure about vardy.
