Surely if it was so widespread one of the abused victims should (easier said) go to the newspaper or media to spill what they know.

They should state their case in person to a video camera, scan any documentation they have and then publish it on as many websites as possible. Let the false accusers be sued.

That's what I was getting at. Social internet generation now is more powerful than the media. If a brave abused victim from one of these scum bags came forward now on Facebook or twitter and told the world what they knew ... This would have far more impact than a dodgy inquiry that will drag on and tell us nothing.

this is what will happen in fact its already started look at the guy on sky news being interviewed he said he was taken to London to some posh house or flats by the suits and made to parade naked as a sex object he was 13 yeard old, the next few weeks will rock, this lot is riddled with corruption even the copper was told to shut his mouth or serious consequences would follow now what does that mean a pay cut or a nasty accident 'well its def not the pay cut', this goes all the way up the ladder to the nations security services but nothing is going to stop it coming out, me i cant wait to see heads roll

I don't have or watch Sky, but if they're like Fox these sorts of comments/slights come down from on high as the daily agenda.

You just don't get it do you Nick, lad? Just because YOU knew about it, you assumed everyone knew and, like you, didn't care about it enough to expose it. Call yourself a journalist? It is not "dramatic shifts in public attitudes", it is "shocked awareness".

There is a parallel here to Wilberforce exposing the slave trade to a shocked British public by means of pamphlets. The result was the end of the British slave trade and the Royal Navy patrolling the seas to prevent other nations carrying on the trade (and gaining an unfair advantage). Today we have social media in place of pamphlets, thankfully (exposé of paedophilia in high places or the latest issue of Hello! magazine? Hmm... Tough choice).

Dig a bit deeper and you'll find there are some that say that childline was set up as a filter for abuse.
