Sad news, feels like another part of my childhood has gone. Came across as never taking himself too seriously. Had his demons like all of us but nobody's perfect. RIP sir

As others have said, another from my childhood gone. Him being 80 is quite shocking

Had posters on my wall of Starsky and Hutch, Hutch was my favourite. Even named our Spotty's kittens after them.

If I recall way back, had issues with drink and domestic violence, though turned himself around?

Every time I hear silver lady it reminds me of listening to radio Manchester, night games they always played it I think Ian frain was city’s commentator back in the day with the Rockford files theme tune as their theme tune as well.
