The "which famous person died today" thread

Rod Taylor - an Australian actor who had some success for a short time in Hollywood. Probably his most famous film role was the lead in Hitchcock's "The Birds". Quentin Tarantino gave him a cameo role in "Inglorious Basterds" He wasn't very tall which counted against him.

Probably most famous for time machine, great actor one of the best. He died in 2015 though.

Good manager Craig Brown.

Always used to make me laugh with his ability to deflect away a disappointing Scotland result (a draw at home to Iceland) by quoting some obscure result from that week's fixture list and stressing that there was 'no such thing as an easy game in international football. I mean, look at Azerbaijan they've just been to Budapest and come away with a draw against a Hungarian side that are unbeaten in five!'

It all sounded so plausible and mildly reassuring until you later checked and found that four of the five games were draws and the other was a 1-0 home win against San Marino. Still, by that time he was home with his feet up nursing a dram. RIP.

aw dear - Yossarian has died - sad passing RIP Alan Arkin

His best film was 1967's "Wait Until Dark" where he played a psychopath who terrified the blind Audrey Hepburn who unknowingly had a mass of high grade heroin secreted in her favourite doll. A must see movie that you watch through your fingers.

Probably doesn't mean too much to many here, but late 90's WWF wrestler 'Droz' died today.
He was only in his relative infancy as a wrestler when he was paralysed in October 1999 due to an in-ring move going wrong; a botched running powerbomb saw him land on his head, and he would never walk again.

Apparently the footage of that accident, along with the footage of the death of Owen Hart, are both filed away in the WWE vaults, never to see the light of day.

Well worth a listen.
