this looks beautiful, BUT (and I only watch City do I do not know as much as others about these players) this would still lack much natural width, it would leave us without an out and out midfield tackler/back 4 shielder, and it would still leave us light up top; notwithstanding that it would be wankworthy to watch (with all due apologies to the lads who sit on my left and right) (and in front)

Watch this video with Cruyff talking about defending, the main point I am highlighting starts at around 1.40, but the whole snippet is worth the whole watch.

Basically saying defending is all about meters and space.

Cruyff is a genius.

For me, having a destroyer is not all what it makes out to be if you have a team organised and clever in it's pressing.

The thought of fitting Cavani into that team aswel! Not a massive fan of Navas but he would definitley provide width, this Bernard fella looks like a perfect plan b/width type player. Younger, faster, and is technically better than Navas. Plus he's only 20!

--------Cavani---Aguero----------

-----------Silva/Isco-------------

-----Thiago----------Toure------

----------Fernandinho-----------

Bernard as plan B

For those who haven't seen Bernard

Jesus Navas would add width and Fernandinho is more attacking than Yaya but solid squad (and expensve)

The only thing that would make that video better is if Mancini came running into the shot at the end and said "YOU ALWAYZ play wiv two holding midfielders! DEESAFOOTBALL! You want Tutti Frutti? I give you tutti frutti!" and throws a package of fruit pastilles at Cryuff's face.

I'm pretty sure one of the reasons Fernandinho is being bought is that he tackles/wins the ball back and tracks back, more complete than Yaya.

Barcelona midfielder Thiago has agreed to join Manchester City. Terms agreed with player and club. City will announce manager first

Taking it with a pinch of salt
