If he,Isco and Navas were our only other signings, how would we best line up?

HART

ZAB KOMPS NASTY CLICHY

NAVAS THIAGO YAYA FERNANDINHO SILVA

AGUERO

Silva and Merlin playing just behind Aguero and dropping back when we do not have the ball

And Fernandinho on his own against 5 opposition midfield players when we lose the ball.

Against most teams in the league yes.......... only when we play Rags, Chelsea, Spurs etc will we need to add Barry in the middle ....ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK

Or Southampton, Everton, Wigan, all of whom ran straight through our midfield last season when it was stronger defensively than that.

And that's just off the top of my head.

The simple solution of course would be not to sign Thiago in the first place, as we have players already who are better suited to our needs & more mobile in that position.

Having both Thiago and Isco would be amazing. We can only hope it happens as both of them will strengthen us immensely.

Considering the players we already have, there's bound to be rotation.

Lot's of options:

4-3-2-1
--------------------- GK ----------------------
------------- CB ---------- CB ---------------
FB ---------------------------------------- FB
------- CM ------ BWMF ------- CM --------
--- AMF ----------------------------- AMF ---
-------------------- ST --------------------

Pellegrini's preferred 4-2-2-2:
--------------------- GK ----------------------
------------- CB ---------- CB ---------------
FB ---------------------------------------- FB
------------ BWMF ------ CMF --------------
--- AMF ---------------------------- AMF ---
--------------- ST ----------------------------
----------------------- ST --------------------

Txiki's preferred 4-3-3
--------------------- GK ----------------------
------------- CB ---------- CB ---------------
FB ---------------------------------------- FB
-------CMF ------ BWMF ------ CMF -------
WI ----------------- ST ------------------ WI

And the list goes on and on and on....

I doubt we would ever see Navas, Isco, Silva and Nasri on the pitch together at once.
Thiago is a deep laying central midfielder with explicit passing and vision, and I don't feel he'll compete for the same spot as Isco and Silva.

And Keegan's formation

2-5-3

I don't know why we're still debating this after all he is going to the rags according to the mirror

United boss David Moyes has also launched a £15m bid to sign Spain Under-21 captain Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona.

Fernandinho will be doing the passing from deep & is a much better player all round, as is Yaya if he is needed to play deeper.
