If the project is to be competitive in the Prem and to fall short in the Champs League, then a signing like Colocinni as back up should get the job done. However, if the project is to win the Prem on a regular basis and to be going toe to toe with the likes of Barca and Madrid, then Thiago Silva is exactly the type of signing we should be making imo. ps it's Haughton Green.

The problem with signing a player like thiago silva is he would expect to walk into the team, and with a fee like that who wouldnt but lescott isnt gonna be a bench warmer at this stage of his career so we would be back where we started!

Would have loved t.silva here but fair play to them for sticking two fingers up at uefa unless they know something we don't.
