This summers transfer window

In my opinion we're slightly stronger than we were last season, but only marginally, whereas our two main rivals have signed the two players who would have made us immense this season and probably guaranteed another title; RvP and Hazard. On top of that the shit have signed a top class midfielder in Kagawa, and Chelsea spent about another £50m on top of Hazard. This effectively makes us significantly weaker relative to the opposition than we were last year. We've stood still and let the others catch up.

Garcia may be a good signing, he seems ok so far, same with Nastasic. Rodwell is an average mid-table signing, Sinclair is underwhelming. Maicon in my opinion is an odd one as we have Richards & Zab who are both younger and better.

I really think not getting a world class signing in the summer has lowered morale around the club, particularly Mancini's. If we'd got one of RvP, Hazard, Falcao, Bale or someone of that ilk we may well be flying now. Shame we didn't use the momentum and glory of winning the title to entice another top class player instead of the last day 'supermarket sweep' of 2nd, 3rd and 4th choice randoms.
a lot of truth in this i think.

I was just thinking the other day the positive effect a lively and speedy playmaker like Hazard could have had on our side. Would anyone disagree that with a player like Hazard and the start he has made (7 direct/indirect assists, 2 goals, 3 penalties won in all competitions) would have had a positive effect on our team?

hazard would have been a great sign , RVP would have been a great sign. but would have they improved our leaking defence and the build up of our game ? i think not.

more than them we were needing thiago silva . at any price.

The last two seasons we had pretty much the best defence in the league. If we were keeping the ball better and putting the opposition under more pressure our defence wouldn't be under so much pressure itself. Players like van Persie & Hazard would have helped us do this, Sinclair & Rodwell don't.

I do agree that Thiago Silva would have improved us though. Ideally we'd have signed him, van Persie and Hazard!

That one transfer splurge and we'd probably be untouchable. RvP is already carrying the scum a lot and Hazard is Chelsea's livewire and the main reason they are on 13pts already. Financial Fookin' Fair Play.

That is the whole point of Hazard, he gets in the box. We have no players who take on defenders on a frequent basis and succeed.

I do not think improve means what you think it means.

for hazard or any other attacking midfielder (or strikers) to have a chance to do a good work you need that a ball come on well nice, clean, clear, from defence . here is were we have our worst weakness.

you can have all the strikers or attacking midfielders of the world but if you dont have quality footballers in your defence your attacking force is almost useless. dees eez football mate.

Crap window, Maicon imo was a pointless buy, Nastasic looks okay but why buy such a young defender when we have Rekik coming through? they are both left footed CB we should have bought Agger or someone of his quality, prem proven and reliable.

We let De Jong go for peanuts and brought in 2 defensive midfielders, one would have been enough. We didnt sign a world class deep lying midfielder which we were crying out for the whole of last season, Modric or Vidal would have been good additions. Demebele would have given us something different aswell.

I think Sinclair will be an upgrade on Johnson but thats not saying much. Basically we have bought 5 okay players but none were needed or up to the required standard and now Mancini has to find a way of fitting them in. One or two high quality signings would have been much better.

Its hard to be positive when you read that. Hope the newcomers overachieve.
