This summers transfer window

I'm not disputing that we couldn't of had a better transfer window as we clearly could have but it wasn't exactly the disaster a lot of people on here are making it out to be. Last season we had a title winning squad and we have improved that and if we have a poor season this year it won't be because we failed to sign Hazard or RVP it will be because Mancini will have fucked up plain and simple. We still have the best team in the league.

Just out of curiosity if we had signed RVP and Hazard would you still think that we could of had a better transfer window because we didn't sign Messi and Ronaldo?

All fans of the top 4 teams believe this.
I really doubt the Scousers think that... oh wait...
To be fair even the Arsenal fans don't think this.

Buying players on the last day is always poor unless you are buying a promising youngster, you don't plan to use right away. This window was not a good one and really wasted an opportunity to extend the gap in the league and catch the top 3 in Europe. From a business point of view it was even worse than from a footballing point of view.

Garcia was probably around 4th or 5th choice and means you are STILL going to have to buy a world class deep lying playmaker next year. The problem with that is, you will then have Garcia, Rodwell, Barry, Toure and new midfielder(plus youngsters) that's too much and means you are going to have to let one of Barry or Garcia go,

The same applies for Sinclair. Next year you are still in need of a world class winger, so will splash out on one. The problem is this leaves you with Silva, Nasri, Sinclair, Milner and new winger. One of those guys is likely to be let go.

Garca vs De Jong-too early to say. Garcia needs time to settle in, before he can be judged
Nastasic>Savic-just from watching Nastasic play a couple of times you can see he is better than Savic and a real prospect. He may even take Lescott's place by the end of the season.
Rodwell>Hargreaves-Rodwell's injury record is a concern, but he has bags of potential and all the makings of a fantastic midfelder. Can even be converted into a centre back.
Johnson>Sinclair-Adam Johnson is better than Sinclair though. This is made worse by Sinclair needing time to settle in. So you are weaker out wide

At the same time your rivals have all strengthened both their first team and their squad in general. Put a gun to my head and say you are favourites due to having the best first 11 (even if others have a stronger squad outside that). The gap is not big, but think Mancini is a very good manager and will pull through. However, luck can play a huge part. An injury to Toure or Kompany for a long period and it could ruin your season.

Vertonghen,Cazorla,Kagawa and Dembele would have improved our first team.

Kagawa? He's rubbish. What game are you watching?

Are you a Soka gakkai member, who is employed by Detsu inc. to hype up the weakling?

In my opinion we're slightly stronger than we were last season, but only marginally, whereas our two main rivals have signed the two players who would have made us immense this season and probably guaranteed another title; RvP and Hazard. On top of that the shit have signed a top class midfielder in Kagawa, and Chelsea spent about another £50m on top of Hazard. This effectively makes us significantly weaker relative to the opposition than we were last year. We've stood still and let the others catch up.

Garcia may be a good signing, he seems ok so far, same with Nastasic. Rodwell is an average mid-table signing, Sinclair is underwhelming. Maicon in my opinion is an odd one as we have Richards & Zab who are both younger and better.

I really think not getting a world class signing in the summer has lowered morale around the club, particularly Mancini's. If we'd got one of RvP, Hazard, Falcao, Bale or someone of that ilk we may well be flying now. Shame we didn't use the momentum and glory of winning the title to entice another top class player instead of the last day 'supermarket sweep' of 2nd, 3rd and 4th choice randoms.

Well, everything is relative, I suppose. But, why are you selling Kagawa as a top class midfielder? Kagawa has been a flop, not just with the Rags, he is struggling to hold onto a starting position in his national team as well. He can thrive only in the Bundesliga. It's obvious the Rags got him to sell shirts and get lucrative sponsor deals.

Really? From what I've seen of Kagawa he's been great. Very creative player who is comfortable on the ball, he's very unfortunately the kind of player United needed desperately. Where is this stuff about him struggling coming from?

He isn't struggling,he's a fantastic talent, the above poster is deluded.

Imagine if City landed their first targets ( Hazard and Martinez) !

But thats life, you dont always gets what you wants.

Martinez looks great and there are not many players like him about. Real opportunity missed there. Sahin could be a good option. Liverpool likely to get him up and running.

Don't see the fuss about Hazard though. Yes he is a very good player, possibly world class, but there are lots of other options of players around his level, slightly below his level or better. He seemed far too big for his boots and would happily stick with Sinclair, Kolarov, Milner, Nasri and Silva for this year.

As for the comments on Kagawa, I just don't understand them. The guy has been very good for United considering he is settling into a new team and Ferguson has not yet played a formation to get the best out of him. He is 23 and a class player.

Kagawa has been very good and would have been a nice backup plan for when Silva is hurt or not playing well. Our team is so dependent on Silva, Yaya and Kompany playing great. When one or more of them aren't at their best the team struggles. Having another play-making option would really take the pressure off of Silva and Yaya. That's why they went after Hazard. Not only would he have added another play-maker but he has great speed which the team really lacks. When teams park the bus he can take people on and cause havoc. We really don't have anyone like that.

I though Miacon was a nice move but he's been awful so far. I like Javi, Rodwell could be good. Sinclaire is a better fit because Johnson was never going to play regular games and he was always going to be unhappy about that. But as said before we didn't improve our best 11 with any of our moves. I really think we need an attacking midfielder with real pace. Just a flat our burner that can take people on and create havoc. Look how much trouble we had with Arsenal because of their pace.

The chickens have come home to roost on the last few transfer windows, especially the last one. Still outplayed at home in Europe by pacey sides.

We've got Milner, a player we spent 16m on, not able to get a game because we spent 12m on Rodwell and 16m on Garcia. That sentence sums up our crazy transfer policy.

Whoever found these partners for Yaya should be shown the door. It's basically Yaya carrying the central midfield because we lack passing and pace.
