While we are on about great teams, the Holland team of 78. They and the Brazil team just mentioned linger longer in my memory despite being potless.
I was too young for that great Dutch side. Although the 88 side was pretty special. Greatness should be defined by the football played and how they make you feel, not by ticking boxes. "If you win x, achieve y and z this makes you great". This city side is great because they play great football.

I was seven as well and I remember watching it with my dad. He would tell me about the 1970 Brazil team but the 82 team surpassed them in terms of flair. I can still picture Falcaos veins popping out of his arms after he scored.
I'm old enough to remember to 1970 team and they were fantastic. I think they were better than the '82 team and had plenty of style and that is important. People really do cherish and remember teams that played entertaining football. That's why the 1982 Brazil team are (almost) as fondly remembered as the 1970 one by those of us of a certain age. Equally, I think the 1974 Netherlands team are highly regarded; far more so than the German team that beat them in the final.
This City team plays the finest football that I have seen from an English side; it will be remembered.

To an extent yes. I enjoyed watching them play and they were a memorable side for their adventure. I'm just trying to make the argument that greatness can be many things to different people. Red Star Belgrade won the European Cup does that automatically make them a great side? I'm not sure.
We won't be considered great until the BT panel consists of Joe Hart, Vincent Kompany, and David Silva.

The teams generally put forward are league winners.
70s Leeds, 80s Liverpool with Rush, Souness etc, United 99, Arsenal and now us.

I agree. Club football is skewed by allegiances whereas you can be more subjective with international football.
