It's just not true. The reason Silva does not play for Barca in particular who he would fit in better is because they have better players. He is not on the level of Iniesta, Xavi or Messi. It's very biased to suggest so. Even for Spain he has to take a backstage to the true stars of the Spanish team. He is not underrated. He is a great 10 and one of the best players in the Premiership, but he is not on the level of the Barca boys and either is Di Maria for that matter.

I don't agree. I don't think there's much between Silva and the players you name. He's the best player in the Prem by some distance.
I would say that depends on Yaya. I would say over the last few years Toure has been better than Silva, but it is close. I have a feeling that with Yaya's age he may be on the decline now, but Di Maria, Falcao, Aguero are all possibly better than Silva and Hazard has the potential too.

Dave is better at what he does....they are better at what they do. Bit of a daft comment really.

I do like Di Maria and I think he was one of a small number of players that could have come in and immediately integrated and added to an already fantastic squad that would have put us in the Real/Barca, Bayern bracket. If it wasn't for FFPR I think we might have gone in for him and I kind of wish City would have told UEFA last season to fuck right off and we'll see you in court.

All that said I think he did nothing today that none of the other quality players in the premier league would have done to an absolutely awful QPR side. And that I believe is what LVG is aiming for, the fear factor of beating some of the smaller teams before they've kicked a ball in anger. It's a gamble that might just get them into the top 4.

That's because most non City fans don't watch David Silva play every game, those who do realise he's world class and arguably the best playmaker on the planet.
Sorry that's just a poor excuse. Lots of people watch City every week. City are the champions and probably have been the best team to watch in the country over the last 4 or so years. Virtually every City and Spain game is on T.V. That sort of argument really only works at the lower level where the casual fan cannot constantly watch them.

For example I have seen 4/5 games this season (including the Charity Shield) and I watched extended highlights of the Stoke game.

Then there's no reason for him not be highly rated by yourself and others, He'd be a regular starter at Barca, Real and even Bayern. He's that good.
I do rate him highly. At the moment he I do regard as the best 10 in the world, but that's got a lot to do with other 10s who have been surperior either in decline or in poor form. Ozil has completely fallen off and Iniesta is past his best.

I agree he would start at Madrid and Barca now. He would have probably have started for them a couple of seasons back when they were stronger. At Madrid starting over DI Maria( was not as good then) and at Barca over Pedro.

Though when it comes to Bayern exactly who is he going to start ahead of if they had everyone fit at the moment. Which one of Muller, Ribery and Robben do you think will miss out.

No I would say your's if the daft comment. I always found it crazy when people argued that you cannot compare players in different positions. We do it all the time. Nobody here seriously thinks Bolassie is a better player than Kompany do they? Nor do I think anyone is seriously going to claim that Messi and Ronaldo are not superior to every other player in the world too. That's not to say when the gap is much smaller it does not become far harder to judge the better player, but let's leave they play different positions or worse they are different type players alone.

I'd take him over Ribery any day of the week.

IMO you can't compare players in different positions.
Messi would be wank at CB and Kompany would be wank upfront.

They are all attacking midfielders.

I know there different types of Attacking midfielders, but you can still compare Silva with Hazard or Di Maria.

Anyway, I feel sorry for Liverpool.

They should spent Suarez money on Di Maria instead of wasting it on average players.

There was a table that came out last year showing how many shots each player assists per 90 minutes in the Premier League. And David Silva was so far ahead of everyone else in the Premier League, it was embarrassing. The so-called "best assister in Europe," Mesut Ozil, was struggling to keep up with Nasri never mind Dave. Anyone doubting that he's amongst the very best playmakers in the world needs to have a word with themselves. He would start for any club in Europe.

I can't believe Madrid sold Di Maria.

Are they that stupid? Its not surprising they have looked a step below so far this season,

James Rodriguez is a good player but Di Maria is a level above. I can see why Ronaldo was so upset about Madrid losing him.

This,di maria and david silva are different players with different attributes. You take DS out of our team and we struggle. The day he leaves that is when people will realise how good he is,criminally under rated by so many. There are very few players who can do the job which silva does for us.
